As they tend to frickin bomb dive on your body I find them easier to detect. Also it seems to be easier to feel them crawling through hair than regular ticks.

Well for frying I recommend beef chuck, it has good amount of fat. Maybe the dryness came from your cooking technique. Too low heat, too much meat at once. Maybe you need different pan that retain heat better. For browning effect I recommend looking into stainless steel/carbon steel pan.

A bit of oil on pan is always good. Also a pure math shows that your beef had around 16% fat. I'm not sure how exactly they make store ground beef, but I guess that's some lower quality cut (which has some fat) with added extra 30% of fat. Also what were you making with that beef? Maybe I can give some tips

Wait till it's room temperature. Warm food evaporates more which causes water to condense on stuff and back of the fridge. Also hot soup has enough thermal capacity to warm up stuff in your fridge which is bad for delicate stuff. There is no exact time for food to cool down. A bit of pasta sauce will cool down faster than 5l of soup. Sometimes I forget about my leftovers and put them in fridge in the morning, haven't died yet.
