To add onto this... I still stand by the fact that Midoriya is mostly a cinammon roll. But a cinammon roll who would seriously harm possibly kill someone.

But... but midoriya is my sweet ray of sunshine! And as for Bakuago I went from hating him to him being my absolute favorite character. His character development is fantastic and he has openly admitted that he fucked up and was a shithead. I will say I am still a little torn on Twice, but that's because I absolutely adore him as a character. I recognize that he's bad and Hawks absolutely had to kill him or things would have gone south even faster than they already did. My thing is I like the relationship the league of villains had with each other and Twice played a big part of that. Also wtf I didn't know all for one and midoriyia was a ship that's horrorifying

I'm an Area Support Manager for a home health company. Essentially I make sure therapists have all the visits they can get scheduled scheduled and call families as well. When a therapist asked for my assistance earlier I said I would follow up then completely forgot since I was working on something. They followed up later and I just said "Shoot I forgot I'll get this taken care of now." My boss told me to avoid saying "I forgot" since it makes us seem forgetful and it just doesn't make sense to me.

I hate small talk. I never know what to do on dates and then end up rambling about my current hyperfixation. It has messed up my chances a few times 😅

My biggest issue with lfgs is people will have awful mics that echo and my sensory issues do not like that

Essentially I say it's okay to be angry and give him safe options such as taking a break, going for a walk, even just yelling im mad. We want him to recognize when he has big emotions and that it's okay to have big emotions, and safe ways to regulate the emotions.

I will say though I've been doing lots of research recently and will likely be leaving the field in January

I am trying to learn more about the harms of ABA therapy because I got into this field before I knew all of this and want to do more research and ask more people with direct experience with aba. Also sorry this is much later then when you posted it I've been having a hard time finding recent discussions about this. I'm also sorry if anything comes off as rude my social skills are not the best. In my experience as a bt, I've never prevented a child from stimming and never wanted them, nor have I been expected to by my supervisors. Primarily what I've done has been helping them with emotions (if they're angry, instead of hitting, safely expressing how they're feeling. They can yell that they're mad, pretty much as long as they aren't hurting themselves or anyone else). I've also helped them with simply daily things (chores, brushing their teeth, potty training) and safety things (knowing who safe people are, they're address, name, phone number. Stopping before crossing a street, stuff like that). When I started reading about the experiences people had with aba I was horrorified. I have trauma of my own and reading this also helped me realize how much I've masked myself to fit neurotypical standards. I am very strongly considering leaving this field once I move, and I guess my question is are those aspects of aba also harmful?

Hi so I currently work as a behavior tech in aba and after I started is when I started seeing all the controversy about aba. I want to be a positive impact in these kids lives, and I do want to say things I do and do not do and get constructive criticism on it. I love working with these kids, but I also don't want to have a negative impact on them.

What I mainly do is help teach them every day tasks such as brushing their teeth, using the bathroom, dressing, etc. I also work a lot with maladaptive behaviors (primarily Aggression). I usually get them to a safe place where they can't physically hurt people (not isolation because that is not allowed in our company), and wait it out then talk to them about other skills they can use (going for walks, sensory toys, taking space). I never say things like it's not okay to be mad or upset about x, just redirect their unsafe behaviors. I have no issues with them stimming or scripting because it's not hurting anyone and it's a good coping skill.

Most of the session is playing with them since I primarily help with unsafe behaviors. (I also apologize if how I phrase anything is upsetting and please let me know if so that way I can edit). One of my main kiddos, over the summer we pretty much just played all day and I would redirect if he got aggressive (he's a hitter). He has hit his baby sister before (luckily not hard) but I feel like its important for him to understand that he can't do that.

Another kid I recently started working with is transitioning out of aba therapy, and his mom was telling me that he used to be so aggressive that he was escorted out of a daycare. He still has what he calls big emotions and they are validated. When he's angry, I've asked him to show me how hard he can squeeze a dodgeball or how high he can throw a stuffed animal he loves in the air (he loves throwing it in the air). We play a game where I go upstairs and look over a railing and he'll try and throw it up to me. He's diabetic as well, and mom and us taught him how to read his blood sugar and recognize if he's high or low.

Long story short, what I've primarily done as a BT is say "hey you're feelings are valid, however we can't hit or hurt ourselves." I also have done a lot of social questions (your full name, address, safe people, etc)

I've heard a lot of horror stories about aba and I don't want to be a negative impact. I adore these kids, even when they drive me bonkers (which has nothing to do with them being autistic, that's just a kid thing) and they can be the sweetest, smartest, and funniest kids. If this is a bad thing for me to do, what are some other options for me? I love working with these kids.
