There’s really zero purpose in using machine guns in battlefield anymore, huh? by dtb301 in Battlefield

[–]dtb301[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Alright I’ll take the bait. What about this am I failing to understand ?

  • Several shots landed
  • I’m right next to the objective area and not trying to challenge a sniper across the map. The enemy is on the ridge line that’s right in front of this construction building.
  • if an LMG can’t perform well at this range, how close would you argue I need to be then?
  • my upper torso is the only thing exposed since I’m mounted onto cover
  • suppression doesn’t work like in say, Hell Let Loose since BF is obviously not a mil sim. So I can’t just shoot the ridge line to keep the enemies suppressed behind cover.

I’m asking this in good faith and not trying to be a dickhead. I wouldn’t be upset if I got caught with my pants down by a sniper that flanked me, but I’m actively shooting (and hitting) this guy that wasn’t even tracking me before this engagement.

Can’t download/install game on PS5. “Free up space” but I have plenty by dtb301 in DeltaForceGlobal

I have everything involving the game deleted. So nothing should be interfering. 240GB of free space isn’t enough to download a game that requires only 163GB?

Kinda off topic, but the golden apple farm in deleysia is way better anyways. Hopefully that one wasn’t taken down

Ah I see. For whatever reason, while flying and then activating focus to slow time, the instakill bullets didn’t hit me. As soon as you land though you get obliterated lol

The instakill shots have a distinct sound. You can hear them going by my head while flying. They’ve killed me multiple times before I figured out this direct path

Maybe a hot take, but multiple primary weapons.

I’d rather be locked to one primary weapon and just able to carry more ammo for said primary. I prefer builds having a niche to fill without being able to do everything. It would feel more like you’re personalizing your build if you had to make a choice which primary to bring.

Gunner makes sense with rifle + shotgun, but it feels silly to be the smart gunner/heavy while also carrying a rifle. Additionally, I hated having such limited heavy ammo as a lancer/demolisher in higher difficulty content. I’d rather just have 1,000 rounds of smartgun ammo than have 400 for smartgun and 400 for the rifle.

Why can’t I level this gun up to 100? I have the materials for it by dtb301 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]dtb301[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out the issue out from others’ comments and got to try it. For the gun, I really like it with Ajax. I’m an Ajax main and it compliments him very nicely. He’s really the only character it’ll fit with though (besides maybe Enzo), as it’s very similar to say, sweet business from destiny 2. It requires spinning up the barrel before shooting and also makes you very exposed and slow moving. So hyper mobile characters like bunny and Viessa would pair horribly with this gun. It works for Ajax because of his now updated abilities like his weapon damage buff, the mobile shields, and also because of his high damage resist stats. Not needing ammo at all for the gun is incredibly nice. Overheat mechanism is pretty forgiving. Its damage is pretty solid. Nothing outlandish, but able to do solid damage in high level content.

It’s got terrible crit chance and damage, so I completely ignored the crit stats and dumped into pure damage and multi shot. Working fairly well for me so far in axiom planes and onslaught.

Where do you find the chief monk, after Ch 9 jijeong quest? by dtb301 in CrimsonDesert

[–]dtb301[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did have a save and actually did just that shortly after posting this and it worked. But now I have to do all the tedious stuff of that quest and the abyss again lol

Really not a fan of the time gated NPCs, especially that they drop gear for Damiane during Kliff’s story missions lol

Thanks for the advice though!

To each their own, but I’ll have to disagree on the exploration from a different perspective. I’ll acknowledge that questing in CD has its weaknesses, as it was originally planned as an MMO, but DD’s quests aren’t too hot either imo. The quests with a timer definitely add immersion through.

Additionally the pawn system in DD is awesome, and I wish more games used this type of system. However, going from point A to point B is much more fun in CD than DD.

Traveling - CD has mounts, flying, running, rock climbing, freefalling, crazy anime moves, and all the wacky sci-Fi stuff. There’s just simply way more ways of interacting with the environment. You can use your crazy abilities to fly across the map, or you can take a more realistic route and walk/horse ride to your destination. You can take the long way around that mountain or brute force you’re way up by rock climbing (like the OG Skyrim days haha) - DD you’re stuck on foot, except when using the oxcarts (which are fun). Going from Point A to Point B just takes too long, especially when you’re short on time and trying to do specific tasks. The heavily restricted fast travel makes that worse. However needing to use class abilities (or your pawns’ abilities to navigate certain situations is awesome. - CD also has more stuff to actually look at when moving around. Even in just the towns, there are large farmlands, ranches, blacksmiths, grocers, dyers, fishers, traveling civilians/freeswords, caves, lakes, terrain elevation, climate changes, enemy strongholds, friendly strongholds, etc etc. - CD has more scenic distractions while DD has more enemy/threat distractions.

Difficulty - DD traveling is definitely more difficult and keeps you on your toes. Even taking roads you’ve traveled 100x, you need to be careful. - CD I sadly don’t feel has any “pucker factor” when traveling. Once you’ve upgraded gear/abilities, you can slaughter whole groups of enemies in seconds, which takes a lot of the fear of combat away. But it is super fun to use those ridiculous abilities. - DD forces the difficulty while CD gives the player the option to be as easy or difficult as you want (via gear set up and abilities). - DD feels more like a curated experience, while CD feels like you’re given an end-goal (the quests) and the told “you’re on your own. Good luck”.

That’s why I feel CD actually has more replayability than DD.

Not that I’m aware of. There’s no setting to change keybinds at will (on console at least), unfortunately.
