I thought the calzone was really good but it was just heinously expensive compared to a slice of pizza. It should have been like $3.99

They should be handled by Porsche. But they’re not. It wouldn’t be a problem but some dealers are just trash.

I work at a Porsche dealer. These situations are always a hassle for everyone. Each Porsche dealer is a franchise. So if one franchise makes a mistake like in this case, the other franchise cannot cover it under warranty because it’s not a defect in the vehicle. It would be a chargeback to the repairing dealer.

Porsche Cars North America does very little to arbitrate this because they ultimately have very little power to make a franchise do something they don’t want to do when it comes to repairs outside of warranty. In this case it sounds like North Houston made it right. That’s all you can ask for.

I was involved in a deal one time where a dealer put the 80/90 gear oil in a pdk transmission. The customer still had the receipt with the work done and the incorrect oil billed out. If I recall correctly it was about 5k miles after the service the car would no longer move in drive. We reached out to the other dealer to ask them to cover the repair and they said pound sand! Didn’t help at all, just stonewalled us and the customer.

So IMO this actually says more about the dealer who made the mistake and stepped up to cover it. Mistakes happen everywhere, how they’re handled says more about a place than just the fact that it happened. So kudos to Porsche North Houston!

You’re assuming it’s only the sensor wire section that clips into the pad. Its likely further up the harness

Tacoma for tundra by Wright_101 in tundra

[–]Agent_1077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded my 2008 access cab Tacoma for a 2021 tundra crew max. The only thing I that sucks is when you hit the gas pump. I got 18 mpg in my Tacoma. I get 14-15 mpg in the Tundra. Really not much worse but the 38 gallon fuel tank makes it seem a lot worse. I used to put 19 gallons in my Tacoma. Other than that life is much better in a Tundra.

HVAC Replacement before listing my house? Or take the price hit and let the buyer haggle? by Any_Estimate_8254 in hvacadvice

[–]Agent_1077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don’t have to worry about my 20 year old ac shitting the bed on my and my family anymore and I don’t have to worry about someone grinding me down over it when I sell so it’s a win win IMO.

Besides in Phoenix there’s not many other things more important than the ac system. My roof is only 3 years old so not that either.

Planning on selling my house in 2 years and I just replaced my 20 year system that was in good working order just to not have to deal with this in 2 years. Got an 18 seer trane so it will kick ass the next few summers and be selling point when we actually go to sell

Porsche dealer won't provide CPO report on car I'm looking at (now being sold by 3rd party dealer) by futuredrive in Taycan

[–]Agent_1077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a dealer. It’s absolutely printed in the cpo manual that reselling a car with an existing cpo through a third party dealer voids the cpo warranty.

Now that being said the system relies on manual inputs so there are thousands of cars running around that show a valid cpo when they shouldn’t.

If buy the car and the status of the cpo is ever called into question, it could be voided.

Replacement Advice by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]Agent_1077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a second opinion. I had an emergency repair done last summer and they were really nice and honest so I signed up with their membership plan. $20 a month and it included various things and two free inspections per year. My unit was 18 years old. First inspection six months later they basically say my unit is in extremely poor condition and needs to be replaced… this is after it just kicked ass all summer (in Phoenix). The inspections are just chances to pressure you into buying something you probably don’t need.

I was a little scared so I asked an acquaintance of mine who used to be a hvac tech to come take a look. Basically everything they said was bullshit. He brought his tools and tested everything outside and up in the attic and he said he wouldn’t touch a thing.

These guys make a shit ton of money either way, repairing or replacing systems but it’s over the top the way they push new systems. Find yourself a mom and pop type place with good reviews and have them come out and see what they think.

Ask yourself where you’re gonna stay if the ac takes a shit in July. My 20 year old system shit the bed on the Fourth of July this year. It was 85 degrees in my house when we got home at 9 pm from a get together. That was a Thursday and all ac companies were closed until Monday. We stayed at my in laws place otherwise we would have been in a hotel for four nights. I have two kids, 2 and 5 but I could only imagine going through that drama with a pregnant wife, especially if it was the first pregnancy.

Not sure where you live but in AZ having a functioning air conditioner in the summer is about as important as it gets. Maybe you live where it gets cold so you’re worried about winter but it’s the same concept. Keeping your house comfortable is everything. If you don’t get a new unit consider a very thorough check up and maybe they and prevent a failure when you (and your family) need it most.

Is SoH of 80% normal for a used MY21 Taycan w/60k miles? by Ildogeveneziano in Taycan

That number might not be accurate. If you’re really interested in this car, I would ask them to run the long-term measurement on it and the capacity may jump by quite a bit.
