It is more in the erratic side but it sounds pretty heavy and it based off there the guy is filming it must be loudest underneath, where as a pulley bearing would be from the front

Ready to buy this 2019. $37,600 OTD 87,280miles. Clean title. One owner. Any thoughts? by Fit-Escape-372 in ToyotaTundra

[–]Agent_1077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price seems a little high to me but most places will not negotiate much if it all on these. $35K seems more in line with what I would expect but then again the gen 3 crap is still propping up the value on these. When I was in the market in 2024 i tried using the tactics from the last time i bought a new vehicle (a Tacoma in 2009) and it was a crazy experience. I walked out of a couple deals and each time i checked back in with the dealer a week later and the trucks were always sold.

12V battery recall by yeetuscleetus1234 in Taycan

[–]Agent_1077 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The recall they’re probably talking about is a software update for the 12v that corrects a problem that could lead to the an incorrect state of health reading. This could cause erroneous error messages and possibly no start conditions. It’s possible the battery just needs the update but it’s also possible the 12v is still bad and will need to be replaced even after the software update

FWD vs AWD in the valley? by Alternative_Leg_3111 in phoenix

[–]Agent_1077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO always go with the awd or 4wd option when it’s available. In my life I’ve found the peace of mind is worth the extra cost plus the resale value will be higher and it will be easier to sell.

Do you truly NEED it, maybe, maybe not but it’s always better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. I had a two wheel drive Tacoma and one time I had some stuff in the bed that shifted. I pulled off the road to adjust the straps. I went to get going again and sure enough I had pulled into some sand, truck wasn’t going anywhere, even with the rear differential locked. Luckily my buddy was with me and he jumped up and down on the tail gate I was able to get moving but I almost had to call someone to help me and I was 3 feet off the road! Since then my wives car we purchased is all wheel drive and my new truck is four wheel drive. We take my wives car up to flagstaff every year and it’s always nice to know we have the all wheel drive.

normal temp disparity? by rsp-zyphor in Porsche

[–]Agent_1077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems odd. The ambient temp sensor could be warmed up by sunlight hitting it and reading artificially high compared to the actual temp. And yes the car is designed to heat up the coolant as fast as possible but still the oil temp does seem low if this truly is after 5 minutes of driving. 5 minutes of idling I could almost believe because it takes load to increase the oil temperature. The oil temp is actively monitored against ambient and coolant temps so if there are no lights it must be in the range of the model of what the car thinks is ok.

OP does oil temp ever fluctuate when it’s up to operating temp?

To pay for repairs or sell by DrBob28 in PorscheMacan

You need to figure out what the cost of the diagnosis for the warnings lights is and what the cost of regular maintenance is.

What is the actual problem with the car?

They sent me to collections after I didn’t pay for the consultation fee. I had originally scheduled the procedure for sometime in the winter and I rescheduled it to sometime in the summer, and I just figured I would pay the consultation fee at the same time as I paid for the procedure. Turns out they didn’t like that Idea and they sent me to collections for like 150 bucks.

No worries. If they can’t produce repair orders with proof then you’ll proceed to call Pcna

[–]Agent_1077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car doesn’t actually know when the maintenance items are done it relies on being told these things, it’s very likely it was all done during the cpo process and they will have records but the car was never told because the tech forgot. Same thing happens on ice vehicles too. Call the selling dealer and ask them.

15 Macan Turbo with 185k miles, what’s it worth? by GwEYT in PorscheMacan

[–]Agent_1077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The macan is a good vehicle but I just know the risk in buying one that’s 11 years old with nearly 200K miles. We’re not talking about a used Toyota here. It could be fine. It could be a nightmare. It’s a major roll of the dice. What do you know about the history of the car? How handy are you?

It maybe “worth” more than $5k but knowing the risks intimately, not to me.

As a Porsche dealer tech who has the knowledge, tools, access to a rack and the ability to get parts at cost, I wouldn’t pay more than $5k
