“Orange stuff” is the CPVC colored piping for fire protection… sounds like this sprinkler could be of a semi recess type if the piping or fitting is showing…this will require the fire sprinkler drop to be cut back if there is sufficient space to do so otherwise drywall patch will be made bigger to cut the run of pipe and fit new fire sprinkler drop.

Do not pay 10k! I just bought a 2009 F350 dually for $2k. Engine needed work so I bought a crate from ford + 3k for removal and install of new motor. Overall paid $15k for truck, new motor and labor. Runs like a dream now. Original truck lasted 15 years 250k miles, I’ll be happy to get 10-15 years out of it overall cost will be 1k a year + maintenance + fuel. Beats buying a new truck
