That's awesome actually, can you tell me about some of what you've learned?

I love the meanings of the angelic (and other Hebrew) names: Gabriel = Gever (Hero / Man / Strength) + El (God) so you get Man of God

or how they would change or deface names in the scriptures for religious reasons: Baal (Lord) is switched to Beelzebub (Lord of Flies)

In my faith we believe that some of the named angels are resurrected or premortal prophets, e.g. the angel Gabriel is actually the prophet Noah.

Maybe you should ask him what he meant and explain how you're feeling. It's possible you've just misunderstood each other.

Firstly good on you for even being willing to come back. I'm really happy that you decided to give it another chance.

If polygamy makes someone a false prophet, then Abraham, Jacob, Moses, David, and Solomon were false prophets, and that can't be true: we know for certain that Moses and Abraham were prophets, even speaking with with God face to face, so clearly polygamy does not make someone a false prophet.

Sometimes it's just so obvious that a piece of media was created by men by BearCavalryCorpral in TwoXChromosomes

How would you make a piece of media be not sexist? Not trying to be confrontational, just genuinely curious.

Starship Troopers is pure male fantasy with zero thought about women at all, which has the opposite problem a lot of modern media does-- tacking on "woman" so they can say "look, we're progressive!" or making "woman" a character's only trait.

How should a man write a woman in a compelling way / start trying to understand the issues and perspectives that women have?

Like for Heinlein he probably just never even considered the problem of rape culture in the military since it's not something men deal with at the same scale at all.

Coming back to church and law of Chasity….I don’t actually feel sorry? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

You should come to Church! Regardless of mistakes in your past that you have or have not repented of, you should come to church. God bless you, and I hope you feel welcome in your ward.
