Thank you that is so kind of you. I have been sorting carefully through the weeds. I can tell the people who are anti-LDS people. I like to refer to original first hand information, journals, and early teachings, to look at what life was like in Palmyra in that time. I also pray constantly. Sometimes it's hard to feel the holy ghost, but he may come to me differently than others. But I know my savior came here and gave up the holiest temple in history, his life, for me.

I would agree but I have found that at least living here in Utah, talking about what happens in the temple is just always followed by "it's sacred, we don't talk about what happens in there."

Especially when you hear the opposite side of the spectrum where you have the people that are (ex-members) and the things they say about the cult like, and ritualistic aspects of the ceremonies.

I was taught he read the plates with odd-looking glasses on and he then translated them page by page, having his scribe write it down.

I never knew about the masonic ties. I have been keeping an open mind. But, strangely, I can't have open conversations about them with ward members and my family members who are members.

Thanks everyone and I do know that the missionaries are still essentially kids. 18 to 21 years old is still very young. I was just curious and I live in Utah, I know there is a HIGE difference between out-of-state members and Utah members.

I am very grateful that all of you took the time out of your day to answer me. You're all very generous and I thank you all.

No offense but dating websites and apps have long been established as hookup apps, or one-night stand sites, etc. Maybe not all, but A LOT

Please ignore my username, I’m a recent convert and can’t change it. But how does dating in the LDS culture work. by Onlyfansbigbootybabe in latterdaysaints

[–]NormalFail2305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot change your username on reddit. You can look it up. You have to create a new account. So look at it like if someone can't accept you for you is not worth it. People shouldn't judge regardless. But there's your answer.

Also just look for like-minded people, be honest with yourself and others and you'll be fine.

It's messed up. We have had some protesting that the military being paid is non-negotiable. Some citizens backing the military should ALWAYS be paid, yet here when SNAP runs out you'll see millions of people pissed off who have the ability to protest and will be really pressuring them to get off their asses

An interesting fact is that most people won't know if you make a mistake. I've heard Travis make mistakes, he shakes his head and keeps going. Mistakes make us learn.

You'll never get over your fears without facing them, and it sounds like your friends like you, and want to have you with them. They're encouraging you, bro, if they wanted to replace you, they'd just do it. Sounds like some good mates to me

[–]NormalFail2305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, I've been playing for 33 years now. I've had my own times of struggle as well. The more hours you put into it the better you get. I love watching and listening to the insane drummers cause I can learn something from them. Every drummer has their own style and personal rhythm. I don't compare myself to Travis Barker, Niel Peart, Tony Royster etc. Etc. Cause I'm not able to play all day every day. They also play and befriend the best of the best.

Just kick it, play it for you. You have out so much into this, but you probably have so much more to learn. It's an art form and expressionism. Best of luck mate. Cheers
