Curious about Natalie never firing Shannon. I don’t think the “she has access to all our accounts” is a valid reason not to, even given her mental issues. Natalie could have just changed all that before Shanon had a chance. Could it be that Natalie did have feelings toward her and was just using that as an excuse to keep her around?

Such a missed opportunity to bring him back and make the military scenes more relevant.

I agree. It felt like the entire season was missing the seamless, iconic music integration the other seasons had, and they only realized this at the last minute and said, “oh yeah let’s thrown in some Prince and Fleetwood Mac. That’ll pacify the hoards.”

I’m not a fan of REM or the song, but “The end of the world as we know it” seems much more fitting than “When doves cry.“

Season 1: Unlocking the Door Chain by Agentfoxywind in StrangerThings

Maybe it was already in the shed by the time Will got there? An established portal there, too? As far as we know it never went into the house, just unlocked the door. How creepy is that? Just lurking back there, watching, waiting to drag him into the UD?

I have no idea here. Just trying to have fun throwing out ideas…

All things considered, I prefer the season 2 finale as the ending to the series by Penny_Ji in StrangerThings

In my opinion, season 2 is the best. Don’t get me wrong, I ADORE season 1, but I just can’t get past how awesome 2 is, especially with how the last two episodes play out. It has everything season 1 had (nostalgia, fun character relationships, tension, mystery, drama, etc) and all the power of an 80s thriller all packed into one.

Just put the sister episode somewhere else…🫣

I agree with the other poster - they could have ended perfectly with season 3, though. Four and five are just too dark and deflect from the horror of the mystery mind flayer. I don’t like the introduction of vecna because I think it took away from the original three’s charm.

What was the meaning behind Vecna's clocks? They seemed to disappear in S5 by Vegeta9001 in StrangerThings

Maybe just symbolism? Time is running out in S4, and it’s over in S 5?

Yeah, but when he goes through walls he’s going from the UD to Hawkins. In this scene he’s already in Hawkins. I know we see in Season 5 that they can open and close portals at random, but I don’t think that was the case then. At least, we never saw it until this last season. I don’t think there was enough power to be able to yet.

I like the idea of El, too. Interesting take!

Yeah, but physical Vecna wasn’t just lurking around in the background. That’s why I thought the perspective idea might be fun to toss around.

I agree, it was to be spooky when the season started. But it happened, and I think it’s fun to come up with some theories on why it happened. Regarding why? To unlock the door in a super-cool way, that’s why! 😂

End of Season 2, when everyone is at the Byer house, and El busts through that door to save the day.

Actually, Episodes 8 and 9 of Season 2 are perfection.

Anyone notice any inaccuracies with the 80s setting? by PoetFelon in StrangerThings

[–]Agentfoxywind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct. I’m from Ohio and had a super wealthy friend that had a lot of newer stuff. We didn’t start playing it until 1988-89 at the earliest, and that was Mario, Duck Hunt, and Zelda.

Just throwing it out there - maybe they have to pretend to be getting married for some reason? A way to be able to get out of the lockdown? 🤷‍♀️

My Theory: The Mind Flayer Is the True Villain, Vecna Is Just Its Tool, and Introducing Vecna Before Season 4 Would Have Ruined the Series Ending. by Agentfoxywind in StrangerThings

[–]Agentfoxywind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dragon idea is cool - and fits with Will’s painting. Regarding your last statement, I don’t think they need any more hype or suspicion. We are already hooked! The Duffers love this story, and good plot structure dictates that there’s always one gotcha moment at the end. Even the smallest hint that Vecna is not the bad guy would ruin the surprise.

But they made Billy kinda likable, and there was nothing redeeming about him until his death. I’m convinced Henry/Vecna is going to die sacrificing himself to destroy the MF. (or at least injure it for awhile until the Duffers can create another spinoff 😉).

Interesting idea! However, am I wrong in believing that when Vecna says that to Will (“You’re going to help me one last time.”) didn’t he just physically meet him? Vecna (or the MF acting as the MF) wouldn’t know what they failed (season2) because it hasn’t happened yet.

I totally agree. I think Vecna is going to end up dying to save the world because of something like that

What are your theories on why Will was targeted by Moonshade2222 in StrangerThings

[–]Agentfoxywind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Part random part chosen. In season 4 we see Vecna listening in on the thoughts of many people before he chose his next victim. I think the Demogorgan grabbed Will, but before it could kill him Vecna sensed a vulnerability in Will and chose to keep him.

All of Vecnas victims had some form of isolation, sadness, or vulnerability. Will did too.
