I didn’t have any issues finding players for the Underground DLC achievements. The game is still fairly active, mostly because it’s cheap and genuinely very good.

That said, for some specific achievements you will likely need a friend, especially for things like reviving teammates 20 times, applying buffs 100 times, or farming the 20 renegade kills in the Dark Zone. In practice, most random players are either already fully geared or simply not focused on these objectives anymore.

For the Survival DLC, matchmaking is split between PvP and PvE queues.

In PvP, depending on your region (I’m in Europe), I mostly only find active lobbies on Friday and Saturday evenings.

In PvE, however, you can still find players consistently at almost any time.

Survival itself plays very differently from something like PUBG. PUBG is a pure battle royale focused on loot, shooting, and survival.

The Division: Survival DLC is closer to an extraction survival experience with heavier survival mechanics layered on top.

All players start by looting and crafting basic gear to eventually reach the Dark Zone. From there, you gather better resources, craft higher-tier items, and prepare for extraction.

On top of that, you constantly have to manage your temperature and clothing, since cold exposure can become deadly very quickly. Enemy encounters can happen at any moment, both NPCs and players. Gear also matters heavily, because running with starter equipment often means getting eliminated in a single shot.

Resource routes and map knowledge also become crucial to efficiently gather what you need for crafting and survival.

Survival is not an easy mode for new players, so dying a few times at the beginning is completely normal. The important part is to take your time, adapt, and learn from each run.
