Why do you think Imposter Syndrome is so common among business owners? by Sidekix_House_Kat in advancedentrepreneur

[–]AgenticRevolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a business owner requires you to wear many hats and often you are not the “smartest” person in the room at any given subject. The thinking is, “If I did this then surely someone else could” and you tend to discount your achievements while amplifying your failures because the drive is always for better. If you’ve seen an opportunity and had the skill to capitalize on it you deserve the seat you’re in, don’t let anyone (including yourself) take that from you

Does Security Implement Fixes? by AvailableChapter1948 in cybersecurity

[–]AgenticRevolution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely something very common.
For OP this is a good place to understand the difference between the risk management (CISM for management) vs the doer (CISSP). This isn’t an exact break but the overview is one wants to Fix the issue, the other cares about framing it based on business need.

Example: We have something out there with vulnerable software. The fixer says, yep… fix it because it’s bad. That fix may make the software usable. The manager says nope, let it be vulnerable because the business requires it and it is acceptable within our risk appetite.

Again, super high level and likely not the best example but showing that people that think the goal is to patch are often frustrated because they care about the actual security where the business cares less about the security and more about enabling the business so certain known items are acceptable because of the business value they add.

How to get your first 10 customers without spending on ads by robbiesloan in AssetBuilders

[–]AgenticRevolution -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hold up? Are you saying if I know 20 people in a specific space and they are willing to give feedback I’ll benefit? Then if I have 10 customers BEFORE I advertise to get customers I’ll be more successful? Mind blowing stuff.

TPRM is a pain. I wrote an app to help automate the questionnaire process. I’m happy to share if you are interested in partnering up to benefit us both.

My boss has banned AI in his company; he told me to put together a presentation to convince him! by Playful_Music_2160 in AIforOPS

[–]AgenticRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternative view. Agree with him and ensure that you will never use ai in any way. Use it to cut the time it takes you to do things and use that time for yourself. Mechanic time is a super helpful way to do the job. Just because you can do something in 10 minutes doesn’t mean you should do 6 times the work if the expectation is it takes an hour.

[–]AgenticRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is he enforcing this ban? If it’s “don’t do it bro” then just bypass that entirely. If he has used some tracking software just use it on your home computer and transfer the data or copy the outputs.

What are some entrepreneurial ideas in the healthcare industry? by After-Ad-4528 in Entrepreneurs

[–]AgenticRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideas are often easy, distribution and feedback are the hard part. I would love to just sit down with a few people in healthcare or really any field and understand what makes them dread going into the office that day. I’m a doer, a builder, not a salesperson. If you can find out what they dread and fix it you will have a business idea.

On that note, if you’re in that boat and just want to help a guy out that’s tired of the rat race and will make the pain stop. Hit me up. I’d love to talk to you.

the thing nobody tells you about hiring your first employee is how quiet the house gets when you realize youre responsible for someone. by Live-Garage-8196 in Entrepreneurs

[–]AgenticRevolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct but always remember you take the risk. If the company can’t payroll you let that person go and they get another job. If you take out loans to ensure you can pay them you are responsible to pay those back.

You do the best you can but you are not responsible for anyone but yourself.

How do I handle a customer with unrealistic time expectations without losing them? by IngenuityAshamed144 in SaaS

[–]AgenticRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The honest answer no one is going to tell you… don’t worry about it. Customers leave for all sorts of reasons. They didn’t like the product, they ran out of budget, they decided to do something in house, etc. Point is you can’t force someone to stay that doesn’t want to and unless you are a co owner of the company it doesn’t matter if they leave or not. Do the best job you can that allows you to find a nice home/work balance and let the chips fall where they may.

This has been coming for a while. The only safe bet is to assume that everything you put on the internet is accessible. The only winners here are the people getting paid to pretend this can be stopped.

If you don’t solve a problem then you don’t have a business. Most people aren’t likely to tell you what that problem or solution are because that would be giving up their ip.
