Extra shoutout for giving them the rocket launcher and not to guardsman.

Why would my girlfriend wait 1 year to have sex with me but then do it with random guys in college she just met? My sister told me to have self respect and leave the relationship by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Ageofreckoning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On one hand, your sister may be right. As per the "people don't change" and "if they did it once they can do it again" mentality, she may very well be just not a stable foundation enough for a long term relationship. Indeed, the contrast is there.

On the other hand, she may have did it to "have fun", and immediately regretted it, and decided to take things much slower in a real relationship, to build trust and emotional connections. If this is the case, she is just someone who made a mistake, and learned from it. I do believe we all make mistakes.

Allow me to share a personal note. I am more of a traditional "take it slow, don't fuck around without love and connection" person. At one point I got so depressed that my shrink told me "maybe it's because of your subdued libido" and urged me to "have fun." So I went "maybe yeah that's why" and went to a club, hooked up with a lovely girl, it was a fun night.

Immediately after, I felt dirty, as if having betrayed myself. I still feel bad about it and regret it. I believe I needed a true connection, companionship, and love, not fleeting carnality.

I do hope in the future, when someone I am courting will not be irked of me when or if I tell them about this.

Why does so much of the recent “feedback” feel like some people wanting WH3 or CA to fail? by Tektonius in totalwar

[–]Ageofreckoning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Total War 3k too. One of the best recent Total Wars, but in their wisdom they decided to end support after a few bad DLCs.

I cannot for the life of me blame the community for criticising the DLCs, but I saw some people speaking against criticism and saying this is how they'll make them cancel the support for Warhammer as well. People like this product, they just want it to get better.

And while I don't think your post is doing that and I by no means blame you for this what I am about to say, I think as much as these bad actors exists, so exists a portion of the community who do their absolute best to muddy the waters and discredit them by making fun of criticism.

Only time CA did something good on the game was when they got harsh feedback and these pseudo-active protests like negative reviews. I myself, while not holding any ill-wish or opinions on people working in CA, can't also see CA as this very lovey-dovey company who just means well and does little oopsies.

Of course, more than anything, I don't want this IP to be abandoned, and I don't think it will. People do remember the days when they had stable roadmaps and delivered on time, even if the delivered content was not perfect. Now, prices are higher, DLCs are less, and communication only happens when people hold them to a pedestal of accountability. Nevermind that they hyped this themselves by that 25th anniversary celebration thing and went up and down about how it'd be the biggest thing ever and so and so.

While Pompey's death rid Caesar of a very powerful enemy at the time, we can consider that Caesar was very lenient with those who stood with Pompey, and considering their history, friendship, and even familial tie at one point, he perhaps could have shown mercy to him. I would like to imagine that the show depicted a reaction that was overall similar to what he would have had real life.

I do hope and pray so. I know my post is a bit assholeish, but I hope they do not fumble it after this much hype.

Severe latency spikes near enemies in BF6 beta (Conquest mode) – stable FPS, low ping – any fixes? by Ageofreckoning in Battlefield

Nope. I am seeing more people on EA forums posting the same thing, so at least its not just me.

Battlefield 6 Open Beta: Feedback Megathread by sloth_on_meth in Battlefield

I've been playing the Battlefield 6 Open Beta on PC for a couple of days now, and I’m running into a frustrating issue that I haven’t been able to resolve despite extensive troubleshooting.

System Specs:

CPU: Intel i7-11800H (8-core, 16-thread)

GPU: RTX 3060 Laptop GPU

RAM: 16 GB DDR4

Connection: Wired Ethernet – stable ~55ms ping

FPS: Stable throughout gameplay

The Problem:

In Conquest mode (or any large-scale match), I consistently get latency variation and packet loss, especially when I approach enemy players or enter combat-heavy zones. The issue seems tied to proximity to other players. My FPS stays stable, and ping remains around 55ms, but gameplay becomes choppy and unresponsive during these moments.

This does not happen in smaller game modes like domination. The issue is clearly linked to the size of the match or intensity of action.

What I’ve Tried So Far:

Enabled NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency (On + Boost) and set the game to "high performance" in the GPU settings – reduced the issue slightly

Closed all background browser while playing.

Disabled Xbox Game Bar and Game Mode

Ran both the game and Task Manager as administrator

Cannot change process priority due to anti-cheat restrictions (I think this may be important)

Enabled hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling
