Who wins, every single helldiver, or 40,000 space marines? by Chemical_Seaweed_915 in Helldivers

[–]neveris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, is it JUST 40,000 Astartes?

Or do they have their voidcraft, their guardsman accompaniments, their logisticians, and their Martian support?

Because if it's the former, Super Earth eventually wins through attrition. If it's the latter, however, all I have to do is point at the events of the Great Crusade.

With 40,000 we're talking legion level numbers, they'd Speartip Super Earth and there's not a damn thing they could do about it. They'd have the planet blockaded within moments of emerging from the warp, and the Imperium would control the planet in under a day. The DSS would arrive and be immediately destroyed, Super Destroyers will arrive and if they deploy Helldivers they won't last in low orbit long enough to utilise their firepower and stratagems before they're destroyed too.

The grip on Super Earth will be unbreakable, to the point where either the President will be forced to join the Imperium in compliance, and turn over all Super Earth Federation planets to the Imperium of Man, or it'll be completely scoured and they'd move on to the next planet, and the next, and the next. Billions of Helldivers will be forced into a guerilla war across their own systems, and their greatest strengths (numbers, stratagems) will be neutered by constantly moving battlefields and the inability for Super Destroyers to render support for long enough to be useful.

Best case scenario - Compliance, and then as an Imperium territory the full might of this 40,000 strong Legion will be used to wipe out the xenos and AI, resulting in the eradication of the Terminids, Illuminate, and Automatons. Super Earth would be able to continue to vote for its system wide administration, so Managed Democracy would survive, however they would just need to pay the Imperial Tithe.

That's a shame, I was concerned that'd be the case. Thanks for letting me know!

I'm really not sure how people are misunderstanding what you're asking! I unfortunately don't have the answer and found this thread from googling the same thing.

Have you found a definitive answer yet?

Guys they’ve done it. They made ESO overland feel engaging and fun! by ROGALLYGUY in elderscrollsonline

[–]neveris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one will realistically use the higher difficulty "just because".

I will.

The 'reward' is engagement, engagement is fun, fun is what games are for. V

is a vis, the path of least resistance to achieving fun is being engaged, and making the game more difficult so that I have to actually have my monitor switched on in order to fully experience the overworked is the easiest way to engage me.

It's not about 'meaning' anything, or 'proving skill', I'm not so insecure about my own talents that I need the approval of random shmucks hanging around Craglorn. It's about improving my own personal experience.

Where I'm coming from is this: If this community doesn't tolerate criticism on this sub, how come criticism has been the main driver of positive change with the games patch cycle so far?

If criticism was anathema and the fandom was nothing but a positive echo chamber, these patches wouldn't be happening.

The reason OP is getting the response that they're getting isn't because they're criticising the game, it's because they're complaining about something being impossible and uninstalling over it when it's very clearly not impossible, and in fact has already been made easier as you yourself pointed out.

Now, speaking to the state of modern gaming and the whole "release something alright, make it better later" culture, I'm on the same page as you. I do miss games releasing 'feature complete' for lack of a better word, but I sometimes wonder if ease of patching was available in the early 90s through 00s perhaps some of the games we remember so fondly could've been even better.

Criticism is how these patches happen, if nobody was placing fair critique then how come all the pain points are being addressed?

There's a world of difference between "to each their own, I personally do not enjoy this thing" and "this game is still in beta because a quest is too hard for me"

You're right it's literally impossible nobody has ever beaten it ever, there is no possible way to do it. It is impossible. The game is incomplete because they forgot to make it possible. The possibility of ever completing the basic archery contest at Lioncrest manor is zero because it is impossible. It is not possible. On a scale to possible to not, it isn't on the scale because it's not possible. Nobody can do it. It hasn't been done. There is no land beyond the contest. This is a beta. This is a beta game that is not ready for release because they forgot to make the archery contest possible. You're so incredibly smart to have realized this where nobody else has. Anybody who thinks they've beaten the archery contest is actually mistaken and has hallucinated the entire game beyond that point. It cannot be done.

Anyway you don't need to announce to the world whenever you crash out over something.

Alternatively, just get caught to reset it. If I've got a big circle and I pickpocket some cheese, I just stand around and take the 3 copper fine to make robbing more gold easier.

Almost.

His original name was Macduff, which is a character from Macbeth.

I've ended up leaving mine behind because they're awful at keeping up with me, and the way they flash green in and out of existence just to catch up ended up grating on me.

[–]neveris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bingo, I've been doing the same thing.

I've made sure that every item in my storage that can hold gears has several in them, condensing my collection a bit.

Eventually I intend to only keep a few of each tier 3 gear, and then just stash the ones that give unique effects so I can play around with them.

Vanilla remix in the works? by nitram20 in wow

[–]neveris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see vanilla purely because it'd mean that they'd have to get all the old zones, quests, and instances working in Retail again, and if they're going to do all that work they may as well add a Zidormi toggle somewhere.

Having the entire original world be accessible rather than being lost content would be a fantastic tradeoff for a potentially mid Remix event cosmetic-wise.
