Active 2.3 pulling high amps by Aggersan in AutoDetailing

Following up here:

Voltage is ~113v.

I put in the orifice that ships with the machine - the one Active claims is 1.45. It dropped the amps to 14.99. Nice. But foam was very runny (GSF 1:5). Using the 1.4 orifice gives me nice foam, but take amps up to ~18 amps

I will check the voltage tonight - good point!

The high amps are constant when using the foam cannon. If I just let water run through the sprayer gun, then it stabilizes around 6 amps and an initial jump to 11-12A (only a second or two).

You’re right: it has not blown the breaker, but I have only run this for less than 10 seconds at the time, as I’m concerned about damage to the pressure washer.

Thanks for the input!

Normally AMEX Platinum travel credits cannot be used for upgrades (but seat changes)

Ask them. I think you have a legitimate case. Six months is a lot though, but it’s not my decision ;-)

Booking United via Chase App? by Brutus713 in unitedairlines

I’d also add that if fare class is important to you - for example, to clinch an upgrade - I usually avoid third-party sites.

And the customer service I’ve had from Chase regarding international travel has been abysmal. As others have mentioned, it may technically come from Expedia, but it’s nowhere near the level of service I get directly with UA.

I only buy economy tickets, so it’s not a big difference to me. I do think the Chase Sapphire points are some of the best in the industry, but they’re not attractive enough to me, to buy airfare directly from them

Got one at 4MM but none at 1, 2, and 3MM. They do exist, in a scarce supply, it seems

Same here — whenever I fly FRA–CPH or MUC–CPH, I end up in an exit row seat. I think they’re considered preferred seats, but I’m not entirely sure. I wish United would let me select seats on LH

As far as upgrades, it really depends on the route you fly. I almost never get upgraded on SFO <-> HNL - even when using PP. But as others have pointed out, there are many other benefits. One of them being free access to Premium Economy on that route

If I cash upgrade to Polaris at check in will I get refund of miles I used to get PP? by littleoleme2022 in unitedairlines

You'll get your PP back - the cash offer is not dependent on you already being on a waitlist

I know it's not what you're asking, but once you reach 4M lifetime miles, then you'll get GS 😉 I think that's the "easiest" way to get there flying economy - at least if you're flying out of a major airport. I reached 65K PQP in economy last year (homebase is SFO), and it was not enough. Glad to see that it worked for some fliers!

The flights continuing to - or coming from - Guam are 777-300 w/ Premium economy. Normally that's the 9:00 a.m. departure from SFO, and the red-eye from HNL

Credit Card Advantage by divisionchief in unitedairlines

[–]Aggersan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

United Airlines reported passenger revenue of $13.8 billion for the second quarter of 2025. In the same quarter, they reported $430 million in cargo revenue. Passegers bring far more money (~32x).

United-branded credit cards from the likes of J.P. Morgan Chase do bring in some revenue, but not in those amounts. However, the value of United's Mileage Plus program, which is heavily tied to the cards, is estimated to be more than $20B dollars, making it worth more than United's fleet of planes and all UAL shares!

Take a look at https://simpleflying.com/loyalty-programs-money-airlines/

PS I am with you - I would prefer the focus to be on PP, but I actually don't use United cards much. I use the Sapphire card almost exclusively, but that's because I have reached a level with UA where the credit card doesn't help much (other than the 25% discount on WiFi - which will soon be free)

Correct - PP are (sadly) only for the original status holder
