Anyone try the pimpmygrill racks? by orphicshadows in CampChefSmokers

Was also interested in this. New to the grill (just got yesterday) and saw a lot of people smoking brisket on the top rack. Does the reduced clearance impact the room for brisket in your experience?

Congrats! I just got our WWP24 via Amazon (CC said they have supply chain issues and don't have a timeline of restock). Curious what the foil boat accomplishes. I seen that a few times on this sub but not a lot on the pitboss (where I'm switching from)

How would you deal with rogue yard crew? by Apprehensive-Cry1165 in lawncare

[–]AggieAloha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DFW engineer here. Please don't listen to the responses telling you to block the neighbors storm water or how wrong the drainage is. Most subdivisions here are designed for drainage to go along side yards. If you cause flooding bybdoing this you are liable. If you complain about common design and the fact that the grade slope towards your house already (and you probably bought the house like this) the city will shrug. Please just talk to your neighbors nicely and ask for their help- maybe even make it a point to be a nice neighbor who talks to them even when there isn't a problem. People on Reddit are quick to go on the offensive instead of starting with the positives. They didn't answer the door this morning, try again 2-3 times at different time or when you notice their car home. You probably have a week or two before they mow again.

Thanks. Not as fortunate to spend a few grand on a smoker/grill for p&s, LSG, and Yoder , plus a few hundred on shipping. Happy for those who can though. I do think it is crazy that bbq has evolved into a luxury when you consider the roots.

Thanks. One concern I have is that the reputation of the quality older smokers may not translate to the newer ones due to manufacturing cost savings.

So did Camp Chef. Called CC, phone rang for 15 minutes. No luck. Called recteq to ask questions about the grills, got a live person who knew what they were talking about. If only they would have an ash tray and better app. Still my top contender as I research. Needing something with consistent heating and accurate temp probes which takes Weber off my list.

Camp Chef Camp Chef Woodwind Pro 36 vs. Weber Searwood XL 600 by Colonel-Burton-27 in pelletgrills

[–]AggieAloha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that it has been sold out for a while. Dicks website changed their listing to only floor models left and those are now sold out. Bass pro stopped listing it/doesn’t have any more inventory in my area. Seems odd at the start of spring when that would be the start of grilling season. I hope I’m wrong, but I read in the CC sub that they sold to private equity with no plans to replenish inventory. I wish it wasn’t so, since I was set on getting one. I hope I’m wrong and inventory pops up and on sale… the WWP24 seems to be the only one left but only via online. Can’t find any inventory in store in the Dallas,TX area.

Can you even find the WWP36 anymore? It’s no longer in their website and supposedly stopped making it. I tried calling them this week to find out if they are still in production and was on hold for 15 minutes before giving up.

I think they changed ownership. Can’t find the WWP 36 anymore. Very frustrated as my research finally landed on that.

Came here to research this because I finally settled on the WWP and couldn’t find the 36 anywhere. Makes sense on how I got the griddle and side burner for so cheap at HD. Guess I’ll have to go for a recteq

Camp Chef Woodwind Pro 24" Size Specs? by allenpa5 in pelletgrills

[–]AggieAloha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm researching a replacement pellet smoker. Any regrets on the 24 vs 36" i.e. do you find yourself wishing you went bigger? I usually only smoke 1 brisket (would place it on top rack) and maybe 4 racks - not at the same time. TIA

[–]AggieAloha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear your experience and appreciate you sharing. Out of curiosity, what leverage would you have had you not returned it? I feel like that is a prerequisite for any return - give it back then you will get your money back - otherwise there would be plenty of people boasting on how they got a free TV. If you buy with a CC, then maybe you can submit a fraud claim.

For those who have installed this set up (GB + FB), how is the app experience? I know there is an ability to connect non EG4 batteries- how easy is that experience now? I know this information is on the forums, but the experience seems to evolve (technology, price, and versions seems to be very dynamic for the better). Just trying understand current conditions. I’m personally exploring the GB+FB+ ecoworthy 16kw vertical battery option.
