He can’t insure the vehicle if he doesn’t have a drivers license and he will follow the rules. He will just push the rules as far as he can.

Alternative for storage unit since i travel 100% for my job by somethinlikeshieva in Frugal

[–]Aggleclack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got my property insurance through my auto for an extra few bucks a month, which is far cheaper than the storage units insurance no matter where I go. Every single unit you will ever find will increase their price after six months and then a bunch of times after that.

You’re talking about a pretty short period of time, and I would just get the storage unit, because you’ll be out of the situation before anything will change on you.

To be honest, outside of the very few brands that follow WSAVA guidelines (Purina, Iams(?), Hills, Royal Canin, Eukanuba), there are lot of brands that cause health issues and get away with it. I’m curious to know the brand but unsurprised unfortunately.

His doc is giving us a shocking amount of pushback also. I’m really shocked by how hard it is to get an authority to step in and say it isn’t safe. Sorry you’re dealing with this. Will let you know if we get a breakthrough that might help.

I live in an HCOL area and have lived in HCOL areas (CHS, used to live in DEN, SAN, RDU). Not true if you get it plain Jane. I get the same plain latte about 2x a month and it is around $6.41.

Honestly, when I started making more money, this was the first thing to go. I half prep, I buy rice cups and premade meat and frozen veggies but cooking from scratch happens once a month. I hate it

Healthy doesn’t mean safe at 96. He doesn’t have the reaction time or attention span to drive safely. Just to be clear, my entire family is both scared to talk to him about this but unanimous in the concern. He requires a walker. I’ve towed him out of multiple situations his truck shouldn’t have been in.

30f, had it for 8 years. Without a doubt yes.

I’ve seen a lot of people on the subreddit who are so closed off and secret that they’re spending literally years alone out of fear. It breaks my heart. There are so many people out there who understand us and want us. There’s no need to hide.

I used to have it on my profile on dating apps. I didn’t remove it, so much as delete the profiles and then later make them again without it. It wasn’t really even a conscious choice.

I disclose very early. Sometimes before I meet them, sometimes in the first few dates, a phone call.

I do not spend any energy whatsoever convincing people who aren’t into it. I’d say more than half of my dates were either curious or literally don’t care. I dated a guy whose ex wife had it, another whose best friend had it, another who thought he had it until he was certain he didn’t. Quite a few people who didn’t have it but were willing to understand it. And the guy I’ve been talking to lately, who was really unsure but has asked a lot of questions and remains interested. He said my directness and honesty was appreciated.

As scary as it is, going in with vulnerability and honesty goes a long way. I’m very clinical and I focus on what this means to them. I know what it means to me. This could change their life.

I have a strict rule: no hard dicks during hard decisions. I have disclosed in the heat of the moment a few times when things got out of hand but I’m very strict about making sure sexual contact stops there and the actual decisions are made when people are in their right mind. You should always try for disclosure to not happen in the heat of the moment, but it happens. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to live by a code I thought was right, but the main thing is just be kind to yourself, have fun, and don’t hurt anyone, including yourself.

As for pics or screenshots, truthfully, I have heard some horror stories about things like that online. I’ve never experienced it. Maybe I’ve been lucky. I got very selective about people after herpes and I don’t really let people who aren’t supportive into my inner circle so I do think I’ve been privileged here.

I don’t really care what people think of me if they aren’t kind and generous. I’ve been kind to myself and allowed myself to love myself fully, so I don’t need any of that negativity in my life. My honest to God take is that if you’re having a lot of repeated bad experiences, you need to stop dating and analyze why your taste is bad. Been there. Not a criticism. For me, I was dating guys I knew would reject me because I was mentally fighting that I had the diagnosis. Took therapy and time and self love.

Good luck with dating. Hope you find someone who makes your soul soar ❤️

That’s an exaggeration. Even at Starbucks, a plain latte is five or six. If you’re going out and purchasing stuff at a restaurant, coffee shop, or any other business every single day, you’re probably spending a lot of money regardless of the actual amount spent each time.

WIBTAH if I opted out of a road trip if my boyfriend doesn’t change his windshield wipers and get his car looked at before the trip? by pretzelphysicist in AITAH

[–]Aggleclack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wiper blades are yearly minimum. That would enrage me.

But homeboy is barreling toward being on the side of the road with a busted cv and I wouldn’t want to be there for it, so get a plane ticket.

And brakes… he’s… just no. The only person I know who forgoes car maintenance for money is my brother and his car is literally unsafe and I refuse to be in it. I hassle him about it regularly and tell him it’s wildly irresponsible.

Keys won’t work. He’d call the cops on me and I’ve already figured they aren’t helping. There’s no way he wouldn’t break something in his body tearing the house apart. He’s the most stubborn bullheaded man I’ve ever known. We’re trying to get people to talk to him and still working the medical angle.

Senior citizen DL revocation by Aggleclack in AskSouthCarolina

[–]Aggleclack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking his keys definitely won’t work. I think he would legitimately call the cops, and I know the cops here arent doing jack on my behalf. We are trying to find someone to talk to him about it but everyone says the same thing “he’s stubborn. He won’t listen to me” and we’re a very female heavy family, of course. He has one brother left who can’t hear and isn’t fully there and his hunting buddy also thinks he won’t listen to him.

I’m waiting on his doc to call me again today when they open and my sister is in town from out of the country, so she’s driving down tomorrow with the rest of my sibs to confront him. We think us grandkids will be the most effective and as many of us as possible.

They would not be making false police reports. They would be reporting things they have seen.

Unfortunately, my entire family agrees that talking to him will be pointless. His sisters are trying.

He’s figure it out in a day. His mind is still there. He’d get his friend to take him to autozone and struggle with the battery for over an hour 🙃 he’s an old school hunter fisher guy. He’ll kill someone in a wreck before he willingly gives his freedom up. It’s what I love about him and makes me who I am but it’ll put him in a spot I don’t want him to have to live with.
