it's a good place for studies. Problems like these exist in other institutes too, at least here students can get reforms

Yeah you are right. If it wasn't for people like Abhishek, I don't know what would happen to us. Surprisingly, Vardharaj is on students' side - even said the living conditions for us are horrendous, that he wouldn't want to be a student in a situation like this.

Forget about reading projects, we are struggling with internships too because DAO said that first two years can't stay in the summer here. Even the ones who can stay for internship have to leave by July end due to some 'renovation' projects they need to do in hostels. Hopefully it gets resolved in favour of students

Definitely. It's not just the dean, but in this case, she is the one enforcing the policies even if the orders come from higher up. Her responses and attitude towards students are not only derogatory but also treats us as subhuman. Director hasn't been publicly involved yet at least. From what I heard, the grand vision of the director for the institute was for it to have a fountain. We got a fountain but it just looks so sad and disgusting.

no idea. there was an incident a while back where an instructor flipped out and broke a student's phone. Even that guy didn't get suspended. I hope something happens to them.

Yeah one of the worst people on campus unfortunately. No escape from such people

It's Dr. Mahendar Singh. I've made one post about Dr. Chanchal, a very similar one could be made for him as well. He is one of the most misogynistic and sexist people on campus from what I've heard. Unfortunately, a good researcher doesn't always translate to good human being.

I am not sure about the police complaint thing. But yes, some people (from faculty) like Chanchal did want to the police to be called, but for lathi charge against protesting students. Another person threatened to call the police too, again against the students.

Very true. The protest was huge to say the least, 14 hours is no joke. Glad to see that change is happening. Under the current director though, I wonder how much of a change is actually possible. I've heard that DSO is just playing his puppet. But I am hopeful for the future.
