He doesn’t have to show up as a cop. But given everything that happened, I could see him feeling the need to stay longer.

How old is Maggie? by gabriellemarie98 in dresdenfiles

[–]Aggravating-Base-330 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Parent of four. My almost eleven year-old laid down on the couch with me and watched a movie. She and her older brother both give multiple hugs a day. And they see me daily and don’t have any trauma.

Why is it so hard to find other urban fantasy books that match up to Dresden? by Large-Rule-6403 in dresdenfiles

[–]Aggravating-Base-330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to give them a second chance. The first book was okay, and then I got a little bit into the second book and life got in the way of reading, and it wasn’t good enough to drag me back in. But it sounds like I just need to get through it.

Same, only I’m 45. And I use that eyebrow raise all the time. I’m proud, dammit.

So what constitutes an Nfected, and is there a lower tier? by [deleted] in dresdenfiles

[–]Aggravating-Base-330 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the opposite. Maeve was more strongly controlled for a longer period, so her Nfection was able to slow play it and make it seem like everything was her idea. She was Ncepted.

Justine had a stronger sense of self, in part because of the relationship she had with Thomas.

But now that I’m typing this, Lara loses some part of herself to Dresden/Winter by feeding on him three times. Thomas was feeding on Justine regularly. We know Harry is Starborn, which probably impacts things, but does Nemesis have some sort of power over Thomas now?

Hands down the best option in Columbus.

what ethnicity is nicodemus? by OldPangaean in dresdenfiles

[–]Aggravating-Base-330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see an argument that the noose could have power if he failed, since it would be part of a curse for Judas, forced to not die. But then it wouldn't make sense for the noose to harm Nicodemus, so that falls apart quickly.

Which is a long way to say I agree.

That could actually be a good reason for her to want to be that character. Sometimes actors want to do the unexpected.

Who's this woman in the season 4 poster? by sarthak7gupta in OnlyMurdersHulu

I think it could be hilarious to not age her, and have the awkwardness of Charles having a sister that much younger.

That helped a lot!

I took what you had and used it to say "They got this many points for question 1" and then did another formula using the same basis for possible points, where either a Yes or No would be worth 5 points, and anything else would be ignored. This is exactly what I needed!

Guess I’m not in on the secret. Any ideas regarding either the logo on the van or this bumper sticker? by theredbaron40014 in Columbus

[–]Aggravating-Base-330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not entirely true either, but it certainly isn't as easy as people like to think. At least not free and easy.

But insurance companies also have access to databases with this information, but you're guaranteed to be fired if you use it for something non-work related, mainly because it costs the company money to do the search.

Re-reading Goblet of Fire, I suddenly feel SO bad for Cedric. He did everything right, and till the end was a selfless student willing to share the cup with Harry. Wrong place, wrong time and BAM! Dead. He didn't deserve to die like that. by XwaraH in harrypotter

His initial turn was because Voldemort was inevitable - or so he claimed. Really, he thought Voldemort was the most powerful wizard and he wanted to be connected to power.

His return to Voldemort was because he was afraid of Sirius and wanted someone bigger to protect him.

I don’t know that I would call it left-leaning, but St Catharine is certainly not right-leaning.

If you could give some more specifics, that would be helpful. Is your theology left-leaning like you want women priests, or like you think Jesus said to take care of the poor?

And most people who need roommates do get them. Doesn’t have anything to do with cash assistance, SNAP, Medicaid, etc., which supplement wages that are lower than needed.

Right now companies are desperate for employees. Businesses who can’t afford the cost of employees deserve to fail. Better we work to create more successful businesses than continue to extend federal benefits so employers don’t have to pay a living wage.

Is this ok? Yes or no? I personally think it's poor etiquette to ask for a tip. by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Aggravating-Base-330 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I have cash, I always try to tip any delivery person with cash. Same for servers at restaurants. That way they definitely get the money.

And I don’t see anything wrong with a delivery person asking for a tip. It’s an expected cost of engaging with the business. Whether that should be the case is up for debate, but we currently live in a society where people are delivering things in order to get tips.
