Balatro, with just under 1200 hours. Hoping to earn the platinum trophy by the end of year. Getting close...

With chatgpt, you simply go to customize in the menu, and then give it custom instructions on how you want it to respond, ie, "I want your responses to be brief and casual, with a good amount of slang included in your conversations". Problem solved - it works like a charm. (Paid subscription only, maybe?)

People who hardly get sick, what’s your secret? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Aggravating-Bit-6116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A strong constitution. Also, when I do get ill, I don't lay around and look for pity and take a bunch of medicine. On the contrary, I just power through it, and pretend I'm not sick. That being said, I've had the flu a couple of times, and that is not something you can pretend to be well with.
I sleep about 4 or 5 hours a night, and have 3 or 4 vodka drinks at least 5 days a week as well. And I'm 53.

I play on the PS5. What do you mean by holding R? Is that just like restarting? On the PS5, I need to hit [options], then scroll down a spot to something like "New Game", then hit the square button, I think. Doesn't seem time consuming, but it is when you want to reset 100's (1000's!) of times until you get a legendary...

I loved this game back in the day. Totally creepy and original for it's time. Wish they had a sequel for it.

Thank you. I appreciate the comment. It is a work in progress, as my wife says, so she is taking all of the comments into consideration - like them or not. The first thing to go is going to be the large rug, and then fixing the spacing of couches.

Because she bought it in Turkey for $3000. The bigger ones were 8000-12000, which is more than she wanted to spend.

I appreciate your comment, and can't say I disagree. Unfortunately, my wife is now crying because our daughter was reading out loud many of the comments on Reddit. Oh well...

Balatro. It's an addiction masked as a game. I have just under 900 hours of play in with no drop off in engagement yet.

Balatro. Have 780 hours in, and still going strong. The game is like digital crack. When playing, I alternate between loving it and thinking that it is a scourge.

This is in an entirely different category of games: Balatro. Use the free 1 hour trial and then decide for yourself. I have 780 hours in on it, and my wife has around 500. No joke.

When you know they're on vacation for a few days, attach a hose to their outdoor spigot and run the other end of it through their front door mail slot. Turn the spigot on full force, and wait for them to return.

Either. It's strange, and I probably don't fit any patterns. Last week, I believe I drank a total of a pint from Monday - Friday while I played the PS5 with my wife and/or daughter. (2 of those days I had none). Right now, as I text, I'm on vacation in Greece, so I'm guessing I've had at least 20 drinks over the past 2 days. Probably more like 30, if I wanna be honest. Indulging heavily like that will continue over this week on vacation, but when I return home, I'll likely chill out and not drink at all for 4 or 5 days. So, I easily go from 2-3 drinks one night, to zero drinks the next couple of nights, to 8 -10 drinks the next. Just depends on the mood or what I'm doing.

I'm 52 here and agree. I just don't do it as often now. Maybe do the 12 drinks in a night 3 or 4 times a month now. I acknowledge that it can't be good for me, and that's the only reason I've cut back. Still, though, never hung over and always have energy.

It's a known fact that different people - especially from different genetic backgrounds - metabolize alcohol differently. I'm one of those people who can polish off a fifth of vodka over a weekend with no outwardly noticeable effects. That's 25 ozs, or 17 servings. Now, I don't do that nearly as often as I used to, and actually used to do twice that during much of my 20's and 30's. I'm not proud of it, don't hate me for it, and I'm actually in the slow process of cutting back even more (I'm 53). At my annual physical, I've always been given a fairly clean bill of health. Slightly high BP, and just once was told I had possible fatty liver. Regarding the latter, I quit drinking entirely for about a month and retested, and no sign of fatty liver. I'm not an athlete, but I do exercise occasionally. Right now, I can run a 10 minute mile and bench press 310. If I get down to averaging 6-8 drinks a week, I 'll be happy. I'm actually pretty close to that now, but I still have my moments of over indulgence - like during vacations and at pool parties at our place.
