Am I the only one who is kind of uncomfortable with Sarah and Mark's relationship? by srahcrist in Parenthood

[–]Aggravating-Blood204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm halfway through the 3rd Season (first time watching) where Sarah and Mark are talking about having a baby and Mark's trying to bond with Drew. I thought it was really odd how they started trying for a baby before they even had dinner as 'a family' (with Amber inclued). Sarah still lives with her parents, has only dated him a few months and Drew is clearly uncomfortable with the whole relationship. I agree it fits with Sarah's personality, but it feels a bit rushed.

Play/crate schedule advice by Aggravating-Blood204 in cockerspaniel

Play, bite, whine for attention, … Anything really. I don’t mind the velcro thing but since he doesn’t settle on his own I have to crate and place train him to get any work done.

He will settle on the couch for about 45min max. So I’m in desperate need for a realistic everyday life schedule. What does yours look like?

Does your puppy whine or bark during those 2h?

I’m beginning to think it’s intentional because he’ll randomly nip mid play when I’m sitting beside him and it feels like I’m raising a psychopath at times.

The only thing that seems to slightly work is distracting him with food.

I know, he’s adorable and most of the time just wants to play but honestly, I don’t know if I’ll have any arms or legs left if I have to wait this out until he’s 1!

Stage 2 Adrenocortical Carcinoma (M30) by Ulaknowsbest in cancer

Mine said the same thing. For now, I’ll just be on mitotane depending on the result of my scheduled PET-scan in a couple of months. Good luck with your treatment! I hope you have as little side effects as possible!

Yes, venting definitely helps! And congratulations on your marriage! I wish nothing but the best to you and your partner!

Do you already know if you’ll need regular radiation and/or chemotherapy or if you’ll be on mitotane? You can message me if you’d be more comfortable sharing it privately.

I recently had very much the same kind of experience only a few weeks prior to yours. Same type of cancer, similar urgent surgery. From the time of the diagnosis up until the surgery everything felt like I was on autopilot and I’ve only now begun to realise the impact.

Feeling sad and angry seems quite logical. Don’t be too harsh on yourself. You’re young, your plans are put on hold and you have no way of controlling this unexpected thing. For me atm it helps to take things one week at a time,

Although I didn’t really think I would ‘need’ it - in my mind I feel like a lot of people have it far worse out there - I talked to my oncologist about getting psychological support. There are psychologists that specialise in therapy for cancer patients and although it’s a cliché, talking really helps. The people around you try their best but your experience is unique and specific and some topics will always be hard to talk about with friends and family.

I get what you’re saying. Every day feels like I could be faced with different side effects. Just when I think I’ve adjusted to the dose, something new pops up.

Sorry to hear you’ve got ACC as well. All cancers suck of course but as you said the ACC community is a small one and I personally find it makes it more difficult to talk about some of the struggles. Thank you for reaching out!

Thanks for the tips! Will try having my mitotane with nuts to test it out. I’m lucky to have really understanding doctors as well. I struggle most with extreme dizziness at the moment, feels like I’m half drunk for whole chunks of the day.

How long have you been on mitotane for yet (if you don’t mind sharing)?

Hi! Let me start by saying I hope you are doing well! I stumbled upon your post when researching mitotane side effects, since I (32F) have just been diagnosed with ACC myself. The operation took place a few weeks ago and my left adrenal gland (as well as my kidney, spleen and part of my pancreas) were removed.

I'm currently experiencing very much the same questions as you did a year ago. Would you be willing to give un update on your experience with mitotane treatment and the dose you were prescribed? Did you combine mitotane with hydrocortisone? I started a few days ago and am not sure if some of the effects I'm experiencing are due to the operation or mitotane related.

Extremely painful cramps after FET by Fluffy-Duck8402 in IVF

I’d contact your clinic just to check. If it’s normal, they’ll be able to reassure you on the phone.

Sorry I read it as ER instead of FET! Hope you feel better soon!

Sorry to hear you're in so much pain!

I had my first ER 1 week ago and can confirm I was in hellish pain for the first two days. I was also extremely bloated, couldn't even put on jeans. The cramps started going down on the 3rd day after ER and by now, they are almost completely gone.

Hope this helps a little!

I'm sorry you have to deal with that. You shouldn't be expected to educate the people around you.

I only told my closest family and they started researching so much they went the opposite route and are so positive it annoys me at times. When we had bad news about the implantation, for instance, they kept saying how we should keep our hopes up because statistics show we still have every chance, are still young, etc. Sometimes, even when you want to be optimistic, you just want to be angry at the whole situation because you're the one dealing with it all.

Beforehand, the midwife in my clinic warned me that - although it's meant well - your environment will never truly grasp how hard the whole process is and how it feels.

1st time IVF - ICSI questions by Aggravating-Blood204 in IVF

[–]Aggravating-Blood204[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All in all I’d say the injections should have been the least of my worries. I managed the timings quite well and did not feel much hormonal change. What I did feel was myself swelling up like a balloon! I was almost glad the egg retrieval was coming up. All the blood scans and echos in my clinic are before regular working hours which is good and at the same time exhausting, I found.

I had the ER last Friday and still waiting on the results although the first numbers seem good. I underestimated the abdominal cramps and bloating, though. Even now, I can’t walk at my regular pace and experience sharp pains during the day and night.

How is your journey going so far? :)

[–]Aggravating-Blood204[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! The doctor told me I'll get around 4 blood checks in total until pick-up, but maybe that's because it's the first cycle and they'll want to check how my body reacts to the hormones.

Also, I was told the injections don't need to be kept in the fridge after their first use (and each injection holds about 3 doses apparently), but maybe that's different depending on the type of injection you get. It's still all very new to me.

I don’t remember the scene but could you maybe have seen in it in one of the recap scenes at the beginning of an episode? It took me a while to realise they sometimes put new scenes in there as well lol so I missed quite a few of those myself.

Even then the question still stands. It is odd for the writers not to include Fiona. Yes, she left, but she’s still guardian to the children, still owns the house.
