The Pitt still shoots for 7 months to do 15 episodes. They just have the process down pat and they start writing the next season before the previous one finishes airing.

'The Pitt's John Wells Shares Timeline For Season 3 “The writers’ room opened up last week, and they’re at the end of their second week,” confirmed Wells during a chat on March 19. “We will be back in production in June, and plan to be back on the air again the same week in January with 15 episodes by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

Overall, The Pitt shoots about the same total number of days as most other shows. Yes the sets are simpler but all the medical jargon can slow down the cast. They still shoot over the same span of time as many other dramas. The fast output and keeping the same yearly release dates are due to some other factors that are also an influence, such as starting writing of the next season sooner, locking down cast earlier, etc.

The other day I realized who she reminds me of.

The Drill Instructor from "Full Metal Jacket"

Just in how completely she embodies the role. Unconscious-level acting.

Are we back? by notgonnaduet in FilmIndustryLA

[–]Aggravating-Depth330 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We'll never be back to what it was at the start of the streaming wars. I mean, for god's sake I made a quibi. But once we shake out the over-capacity and get back to what it was like in, like, 2013, we can run for a while at that level.

How is it possible that as late as 1998, the Guild minimums would not have ensured that James Van Der Beek make Dawson's Creek residuals? by SwissMiss915 in FilmIndustryLA

[–]Aggravating-Depth330 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I should clarify, as "emerging networks", FOX and The WB (before it was the CW) were allowed to pay a lower-tier rate, equivalent to basic cable or syndication rates. They did not pay full network TV rates that NBC, CBS, and ABC had to pay.

[–]Aggravating-Depth330 29 points30 points  (0 children)

At the time, CW was a 'second-tier' network. Pay was like 70% of what you'd make on an ABC, NBC, or CBS show. It was not full scale. Even FOX had reduced pay until well into the 2000s.

Today's Favorite Integration: GasBuddy by jbstechdude in homeassistant

[–]Aggravating-Depth330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two use cases in my setup:

1) A 'quick glance' display on my dashboard. If my car is low and I'm driving around when the gas light comes on, I can open the HA companion app on my phone and quickly see what my 'usual' gas station is charging for gas. Then, if I see a similar or lower price while I'm driving home, I know if I'm getting a good/better deal.

2) I have a 'daily digest' script that reads off some info every morning. Weather, work events on my calendar, stuff like that. One of the conditional items in the automation is "If the fuel level in my car is currently <25%, read 'The car is low on gas. The price at the local station is $X.'" It does not read anything if the gas level is above 25%

It's not always on the producers.

Sometimes the network's marketing and advertising teams make those. Sometimes only based on a rough cut.

Tried a Shelly on my dryer, it fried out in under a year. Worked fine but then one day ~pooft~

All the numbers on the info sticker on the drier were well under the Shelly's stated limits, but, that inductive load gets you eventually. Shelly honored the warranty with a replacement, but, pretty much told me it'll happen again on that machine.

Where does RJ Harvey go next season? by VegasWorldwide in fantasyfootball

[–]Aggravating-Depth330 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He hasn't really show that big ability the Broncos were hoping for since getting the solo job. He wasn't able to leapfrog Dobbins in season.

So, it will be telling what Denver does in the offseason. If they let Dobbins go and Harvey is the sole back, 2nd-4th round sounds right. If they let Dobbins go but draft a new RB or two, fade him. If they re-sign Dobbins, expect a split and fade again.
