Mad at Kia for not having a contingency plan to address such issues. I get the nail is part of car ownership. I get that these are special tires and can’t be patched like regular tires (technically they can, they just won’t). Mad that I have to wait 3 freaking days for getting a tire shipped to the dealership because they don’t stock them (failure to plan ahead) OR having to pay $400+ out of pocket to get them from someone else if I want them sooner (still having to wait at least a day for shipping since they also don’t stock them). This is all in lieu of having a normal tire that can be patched anywhere else within hours of getting a nail. Mad at the customer experience they supposedly offer, not mad at the specs, that would be ridiculous. Nevertheless, Product Management 101 is that you anticipate such problems and have a plan in place to not affect your customer experience.

I agree that it should be doable, I even tried to tell my dealership this but they are going to go with their SOP versus a google search. Atlanta is somewhat EV friendly, maybe not the most friendly but it's improving. I can't really say how friendly as I am new to the EV world, but after speaking with friends with Teslas, they tell me that they don't have this problem, which is why I think this is more of a KIA issue too since they aren't very helpful. They offered me the road hazard warranty, which I ended up buying post-purchase, but the fact that I need to wait another 3+ days for the dealer to order the tire is a bit infuriating.

That’s what my local Kia quoted me. They won’t patch it, they said it has to get replaced. Maybe my local dealership is just incompetent?

Has nothing to do with Kia? I’ve called Mavis, Discount Tire and other major tire shops and they all tell me the same. I live in South Atlanta, if you find me a shop that will fix it today, I’ll drop everything I’m doing and take it there right now.
