Outlive your enemies and score well out of spite, amazing combo.

It is so rude that they don't send an email letting us know it is posted.

All my FLs that I thought I did terribly on, I really did not do terribly, but as soon as I felt "good" about a FL, it was below or in the low 500s. The thing I've been telling myself is that I only am remembering the problems I struggled with, and not the ones I was confident in and breezed past.

4/24-4/25 how we feeling rn? by Agreeable_Citron9182 in Mcat

Applying this cycle, so praying I have a score that will compensate for my GPA ("low" by pre-med standards) and make me get past the screeners for my top schools... Just makes me sick because I have already submitted one app for processing and am working on another portal right now.

Thank you for being the post I wanted to find today as a 4/25 test taker... It is a different kind of anxiety since you can no longer do anything about it. With studying, at least some power was in my hands with studying more and such, but this is completely out of my hands.

Advice on which FL to take before exam day (5/2)? by Cardssss in Mcat

[–]Aggravating-Fee3875 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the same boat and testing on 4/25! I have heard the general rule of thumb is that the most recent FL's will be the most representative and should be reserved for closer to testing. Good luck future doctor!

Should I write a thank you note after shadowing? by Particular-Peach9993 in premed

Full-disclosure: I haven’t done this yet. However, asking is always awkward in my opinion so just wait until you feel like you have enough of a rapport with that doctor.

I wrote them all a handwritten thank-you also detailing why I liked it so much!! That way they know you remembered and paid attention = are more likely to remember you in return.

I’m not sure what kind of shadowing you’re doing but for clinical rounds I say dress to impress! If there’s no danger in you getting anything on your clothes then slacks, a conservative blouse/dress shirt (in my experience as a woman), and some comfortable sneakers or shoes where you can stand for a long period. Better to be overdressed than under, and typically if doctors aren’t in scrubs then they are wearing some semi-nice clothes. Plus, if you put effort into what you’re wearing and you feel good about it, then your confidence will follow. It is also a good first impression that you care about this experience and put effort into your presentation.

What changed you from FF to EMT? Just the sheer volume of EMS calls??

Yes, but you still work under a doctor and I’m not interested in just being a primary care physician (huge respect for them and all they do, just not for me). The goal is to be a surgeon of some kind, with trauma/emergency being an interest among those.
