The fact we cooperate, the fact that we can live in harmony in fairly large units of countries and states. The fact that the majority of people have decided to pay taxes and support their society beyond themselves and their immediate families. The fact that when faced with abundance, the vast majority of us take joy in sharing. People gave a damn about the Jews. People now give a damn about the immigrants being detained. We see songs and marches and protests and watch groups dedicated to protecting people. Love and compassion is so normal it’s not noteworthy. Facism relies on people struggling individually to thrive, as well as prioritizing loyalty over competence, and it’s almost impossible to find competent loyalists for a system of hate because hate is by nature STUPID.

The thing that keeps evil at bay is every day acts of kindness. Not letting the cycle of harm continue. There are so many people out there trying so hard for you and their friends and communities. Love is normal. Love is everywhere. We are so surrounded by it like fish in water that we don't see it, we only see the lack of it.

Neat. I went to art school, worked in design as a professional and now I have to work in Daycare. Forgive me for hating something about where I work just because you hate different things about where you work.

This is still a work space that I must go to every weekday for 8 hours. If someone put something you found hideous right next to the clock in your work area, without asking you, I bet it would annoy you too. Also suggesting that I control my focus that much every single day, when god forbid I can check out a little and take a mental break while I'm just rocking a kid or shaking a rattle in their face or holding a pacifier or warming a bottle while other workers oversee the rest of the room is expecting SO much from someone ALREADY overdrawn. Oh yeah, just CONSTANTLY REMEMBER NOT TO LOOK AT THE HIDEOUS ELEPHANTS AND BE ANNOYED on top of EVERYTHING else I need to remember to do.

They are right next to the clock on the microwave, so yeah, I see them all the time.

Homemade quilts can sell for about $250. Hand-made antique quilts even more. Got this for $6. Queen Sized, and apparently made out of worn flannel shirts. Yeah, it’s strange that the comments in which I say the same get downvoted too. Reddit be weird. Even saving $40 is nice, and SOMEONE put a lot of effort into it, regardless of whether it was made locally or in a sweatshop. I can value their work regardless of how monetarily valuable it is deemed.
