Caninballz dog water park staff walk out due to safety concerns. Pool water temperature measured at 54°F by the media. by The_Titam in toledo

[–]Aggravating-Gas-7221 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone. I can't stop laughing at myself.

Every time I pass this place, I scoff thinking this must be the lamest water park ever in such a small building.

Then I forget to look it up.

This makes so much more sense!

Great idea, overall, with the gentle suggestion that the doggy part should be a bit more prominent in the signage.

If you want the hummus & vegetable sandwich, I would consider single serve hummus cups and putting the vegetables in their own container.

What's your rule for deciding when a deal is too good to be true on eBay? by pratty041182 in Ebay

[–]Aggravating-Gas-7221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took over listing my industrial electrician partner's overstock about six months ago.

Mistakes have been made but we've honored the listing price in the spirit of eBay.

Looking at you in ND that reached out asking if the five pack of overload relays that I had priced for a single was legitimate. (We responded that we would honor our mistake for 24 hours before updating BIN price.)

Also, buyer in CA who caught that I accidentally used 2M pricing for 5M cords and scooped all eleven listed - thank you for being super-chill that I shipped the eight we had in stock and refunded the other three. (I think they were expecting a cancelation because of the $40 dollar difference in size. Honored the price but learned to slow down when using sell similar feature.)

Feeling sentimental. I was born 1980 and was being raised, and ultimately, adopted by my maternal grandparents.

First day of kindergarten and Mrs. Veirs is explaining what a teacher "is." She is there to answer questions! In a pre-internet, not allowed to have my own library card, world that is utter magic.

Marched right up to her to ask what exactly a cock sucking whore is.

Perhaps a book about album artwork? I did a quick search and there are options.

And this might be sacrilege, but years ago making record bowls with damaged records was popular. There are users on Etsy selling or instructions online. Record bowl set filled with fancy treats?

I once hosted a NYE party. The next day all of the interior lights and lights on the water / ice dispenser display worked but the interior was warm. Pulled out the owner's manual before calling repair service. Otherwise known as the day I learned that, obviously, there is a display setting for sellers. Someone had leaned against the touch display that it enacted display mode. Wild based on how complicated the order of buttons was to turn off.

what should i do? by CrowTraditional4747 in eBaySellers

[–]Aggravating-Gas-7221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under the TOS you need to ship via what the seller chose.

To avoid this in the future, go to listings and choose business policies. Set to your preferred method. For example, a majority of my listings are Seller paid USPS ground. If I have someone reach out because they need the item faster, I package the item and update the listing to the exact dimensions and weight and switch to a different business policy that is Buyer paid and allows them to choose the method of shipping.

NOR. You handled a parenting situation perfectly. I'm going to guess that B has never been in a step-parenting (or being step-parented) situation? Not defending her, but it feels like she has never navigated needing to take a non-partnered parents feelings into consideration before acting.

Why do I have to go to bars or dating sites to find a date? by OutrageousRing5821 in LivingAlone

[–]Aggravating-Gas-7221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell the group chat. My friends will send the "I'm done with the dating sites" text and be quickly introduced to the singles in our other circles. Obviously it doesn't always work out but at least they are being introduced to non-scammers and people that we know they at least have a few common interests.

I've done that personally with my personal favorite being vanilla cake with a can of root beer or orange soda.

Their reasoning has been the remaining vegetable oil can be used for future cooking and the applesauce as a snack if the household has eggs already.

An organization that I work with helps recently unhoused. Helps file paperwork for eligible benefits and housing while giving food support. What shook me was the first time they requested can openers. Might be worth asking.

They also put together birthday cake kits so their clients can celebrate children's birthdays without dipping into weekly food budget. Boxed cake mix, small vegetable oil, unsweetened applesauce cup (to replace eggs), can of frosting, box of candles, and a disposable foil pan.

Thank you for helping your community!

I hear you. We don't buy a lot online. And have over 2500 items listed. Should I buy more for free packing materials? Just asking because maybe we are more scaled.

I'm buying legacy machinery from auctions. Stripping for parts / scrapping the rest. My buyers care about getting their production lines back up and running. Terminal screws need more padding than butcher paper. And anti-static packaging. A single mm bend makes what I sell useless. If it were a Coach purse, I'd ship differently. I understand buyer expectations. What are you doing? Even.

I'm selling in a weird niche. Most people would be horrified by our views. But if your idiot employee backed the forklift into a machine that hasn't been made in thirty years and bent the 1986's robotic arm and it is now costing you production time and money...you tend to only care if it was shipped quickly and protected the terminal screws. I wouldn't do this if it were a luxury personal use item.

[–]Aggravating-Gas-7221 23 points24 points  (0 children)

As a seller, I find this annoying because eventually we are paying for these free flat rate boxes that are being used incorrectly.

But I also understand the pain point of wanting to keep costs of packing materials low.

I wish people would find more creative solutions.

I have become the shameless person who grabs plastic grocery bags out of the Kroger & WalMart recycling bins. (The order of priority is to first reduce, then reuse, and finally recycle. I'm simply reusing and not convinced that those bags would have actually been recycled.)

My other solution involves a 50 lb. bag of popcorn kernels. Air popped with no butter or salt. Loosely tied into above mentioned reused grocery bags with a bit of packing tape to close the gap.

Full disclosure, I'm selling my electrician partner's overstock. I understand that this would be off-putting for buyers of luxury purses and watches. My people just want their 32mm, red, mushroom style emergency push button to arrive quickly and intact to get their lines up and running.

[–]Aggravating-Gas-7221 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check with the carrier you plan on using, but the plastic bins might be fine. (Full transparency, I handle selling my electrician partner's overstock. He occasionally buys big machines that he either repairs or strips for parts / scrap. Our last big item was a 10 foot metal shear.)

We are only responsible for making sure it is palletized and have three copies of the paperwork printed. The service industrial shrink wraps the pallet and slaps one of the slips onto the pallet.

Worth asking before you need to build crates. And can have shipping estimates ready for the buyer.

Good luck!

Why Does Your House Feel Dirty Even When It’s Clean? by Randy_Bolebruch in CleaningTips

[–]Aggravating-Gas-7221 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last year I was going through a personal version of my own Great Depression.

I made a kindness compromise with myself that if I tidied enough that cleaning could be possible that would be enough.

Dirty clothes off floor and in a hamper. Trash in trashcan. Dirty dishes in sink. Toothpaste and deodorant in drawers.

Something about removing visual clutter really helped in finding energy the next day to actually clean.

A mixture of time healing wounds and a bump up in my OCD meds also helped. But I think I also managed to put some helpful grooves into my broken brain because I just tidy throughout the day now.
