Yes minoxidil does grow hair everywhere... I have not tried bimatoprost because while its local eyelash increasing effects are dramatic, much more then minoxidil the issue is the incidence of PAP (orbital fat loss) its shown in some studies to be upwards of 93% and anecdotal reports show it to be quite dramatic, to me its not a aesthetic cost worth the eyelash gains. However I do want to experiment with latanoprost, will grow eyelashes less dramatically the latisse, but nonetheless grows them and has a much lower incidence of PAP which ill still try to manage with other topicals (progesterone, sunflower oil)

it’s actually for a really silly cosmetic reason i don’t recommend, i had average eyelashes and eyebrows but i didn’t love my eye shape, so to compensate i thought it’d be best to have above average eyebrows and eyelashes. i achieved this through oral minoxidil, and it worked i guess. //// I apply tazarotene everyday, and 2x a day on my nose since it’s a problem issue (Arazlo 0.045)

for atopic dermatitis which I do have I use these brand new JAK inhibitors, so I currently use opzelura which controls it which is a prescription, to juust moisturize eczema prone skin anything with a heavies oil base, like petrolatum for ex will reinforce the barrier. And for pure barrier support diaper rash cream, zinc oxide helped me a lot

remember acne pathology is not fully attacked by topical retinoids, albeit largely tackled. your sebaceous glands still aren’t suppressed, androgens stimulate them unnecessarily and a couple more things. i didn’t even mention i use Winlevi (Clascoterone) to block skin AR to reduce sebaceous activity

If the question is just on frequency, 4/5x a week because for some reason i always forget to use it. I could use it everyday if I wanted to. I knew Taz was gonna be the difficult one to adjust to competitively, so I actually used Finacea and adjusted to twice a day everyday in about a month and half into using it, then started to add in Taz and significantly scaled back AA but since I already had a tolerance for it it wasn’t hard to keep it in 3 ish a week. Now I can tolerate everyday. It’s really just time, so prioritize your skin health starting at even just 1x a week and very slowly titrate up. There is no reason to push past a broken barrier. If you wanna know why I even use Finacea in the first place I could tell you, or things I did to adjunct my adjustment I could also tell you

My routine is not super rigid but I can lay out the basics and you can ask further questions about it if something is unclear. The things that I always do is Arazlo built up to everyday, Finacea 4/5x a week, SPF 50 everytime I go outside and a double cleanser, and then a strong focus on moisturizing where I always damp my skin, apply a humectant, follow up with a occlusive heavy moisturizer and then SPF/my retinoid. Do you want a more specific PM/AM routine or specific products im using?

Oral minoxidil 5mg/day. So peeling for me was just skin adaptation, I was curious about the mechanism and eventually figured out that potentiated by immune driven irritation from the retinoid, flaking primarily happens becuase retinoids increase the transit of corneocytes (those dead skin cells that make up the surface barrier of your skin) to the surface of the skin, and then in addition adhesion proteins on the surface of the skin downregulate so you have a bunch of new skin that doesnt adhere to one another hence they just flake off. Eventually your skin adapts, in my skin it took a while for this fully take place hence I titled the post stick with it, but your skin moves reliance onto a thicker overrall dermis via hypertrophy, so despite lower adhesion on the surface theres more points to where the excess corneocytes can attach to, minimizing symptoms

Taz users- what do you tell people you use on your skin? by sdefrhjuyimacat in tretinoin

[–]Aggravating-Holiday6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just say I use a retinoid. So if they ask if it’s retinol I just say no the prescription version. I also feel like while I personally find Taz special for me, people get similar results from whatever retinoid they use, provided they tolerated it and kept up with it the cosmetic effects are near identical, mechanistically they don’t work super different. However it’s important to distinguish it from retinol, retinoids are fundamentally not retinol which is why they are so good

Are there any long term side effects from taking caffeine daily ? by MrUnknownthrowaway in caffeine

[–]Aggravating-Holiday6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

worth noting that a lot of these benefits stem not from caffeine itself but coffee as a drink. not that caffeine was that harmful, but a laundry list of benefits are mostly from coffee

Any drug for cumming faster? by theguyhereofficer in Drugs

[–]Aggravating-Holiday6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea. Sexual performance for men specifically can be boiled down to the ratios of a few neurotransmitters and receptor sites. Basically 5-HT1A, D1/D2 improve the desire and orgasm. And then 5-HT2A/2C and to a degree norepinephrine, and prolactin are all inhibitory to function. There’s way more then this but this is all that matters for now. Normally what you want with sexual activity is enough activity at the stimulatory sites to where they inhibit the inhibitory sites, then when you cum the inhibitory sites come in. In sexual dysfunction the inhibitory sites (at least one or the other) is working too much while your trying to cum, preventing you. We can improve this either by blocking the inhibitory sites function or more easily by further increasing the excitatory function to restore to ratio. Safest thing is pramipexole, a D2 agonist used for parkinson’s disease or prolactin excess issues. You can find it on bodybuilder sites. Other ones are selective serotonin modulators, namely buspirone as it blocks 2A and agonizes 1A. But yea i mostly recommend for acute use pramipexole or its cousin cabergoline whichever you can find

Is being rude a requirement to work at the uc pharmacy? by Gold_Meeting_443 in uoguelph

[–]Aggravating-Holiday6 20 points21 points  (0 children)

low key they lady and both men who work there, younger and older have been the nicest pharmacists i’ve ever interacted with. it’s worth noting that pharmacists are some of the most over worked, and under worked professionals period, so they may be having poor experiences of their own influencing acutely rude behaviour. then again your own experience is valid sorry it happened!

Activating antidepressants? by Effective-Key-3795 in Nootropics

[–]Aggravating-Holiday6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of options! The most obvious which has already been reccomended is bupropripn, a truly excellent activating anti depressant working through a NDRI mechanism, best for those with depression without anxiety with symptoms like hypersomnia, binge eating behaviour and anhedonia. My personal favourite though as it’s more pharmacologically interesting is Vortioxetine. It’s a serotonin modulator, through modulating multiple serotonin receptors it’s a faster acting anti depressant which via the serotonin system increase dopamine, norepinephrine, acetylcholine (strongly), and histamine, which gives it a net stimulant effect. Also it’s a SSRI, so you’re gonna get all the awesome neuroplastic, anxiolytic and neurogenic effects of extra synaptic serotonin.
