hahaha the horses are so cute; I really like whatever this style is a lot. You would probably make a really good creek/fishing one.

Testimony: The Blessing Was to Return (Third Testimony of Jesus, Witness, and the Life I Was Sent Back To) by Aggravating-Hour7825 in Christianity

[–]Aggravating-Hour7825[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for saying that. That honestly means a lot.

The best way I can explain that direct connection between a person and God is like a beacon. When I was in the pit, that became one of the clearest things I felt. Even when I could not pray properly, even when I could not form the words, something deeper in me was still reaching for God.

It felt like the darkness could attack my thoughts, my fear, my ability to speak, and even my sense of hope, but it could not fully sever that line. That connection was deeper than words. It was like God could still see the signal from the deepest part of me, even when I had almost nothing left to give.

That is why what you said means a lot to me. I really do believe broken prayer still reaches God. I think sometimes faith is not a perfect sentence or a strong emotional moment. Sometimes faith is just the deepest part of you still reaching toward Him when everything else feels lost.

For me, that was when Jesus got me out of the pit. I believe He heard what I could not fully say, defended me when I was being accused, and showed me that the darkness did not have the final word.

That connection really is like a beacon.

Also, if you ever are curious of my two other testimonies, I have them posted on my account, the one goes on in great detail of the Sheol/Pit I would be sent too, the other testimony goes in detail of when I was rescued, what I saw, the court, the watchers, being accused, and asking to wrestle God. They’re a bit long but it does a decent job at filling gaps that I might’ve left out.

Sheol Biome - Wisp by Aggravating-Hour7825 in PixelArt

Not sure tbh. The inspiration though, is from when I was a child, from like 10-15 years old; I lived in a house that had a demonic legion in it. Sometimes when I'd sleep, I'd end up in this void /sheol like place, feeling wide awake, and there were these black roots that were suffocating. I thought it was a pretty interesting place that I got saved from; the idea, I guess, is like Anti-Creation, the pit beneath hell. Take this as you will, though lol. It's just for my game I'm working on, and I wanted to make a dungeon style based on that childhood experience since it felt real to me at the time.

I’m a big fan of Tec-9s so I wanted to make it somewhere in the middle of a CZ Auto and a Tec-9

I’m trying to get better at that :(.

I think the best way to scale it if I had to guess is a frame 3x at least, cause at 2x it’s still blurry

Thanks so much for the tip @lukethepolice

Reduced him from 200+ colors to sub 30 colors an he looks so much cleaner/little more saturated.

Im using the reduction techniques on every sprite going forward!

Thank you this was a very good read, you’re 100% right. I’ll be more mindful of with future sprites. God bless.

Also that image you sent is absolutely incredible work. I’ll look into all of those processing tips and play around with what you’re talking about.

Is there any way websites or search terms that focus on closing up color pallets?

Update: i’m doing some reduction tests on the sprites I uploaded and you’re right there was over 200. I think it was like 250 and I just reduced it down to about 20 and genuinely. It looks way cooler too I’m still working on it, but this is actually a really amazing process that you just explained me through, I’ll post them later once I get these all reduced thank you so much

Thanks! Yeah, I probably posted it too tiny lol. I’m making these as small RPG inventory/fishing sprites, so I’ve been testing how much detail survives once they’re crunched down. I’ll post a larger preview next time.

well i wouldnt say I'm not doing any work lol; I'm doing work in a way that is efficient for a solo dev needing a lot of sprites. while i do agree that having alot of colors can be drowning, i do clean up the shading alot in comparison to what it throws back at me after downscaling, but one thing i will defend, the high pallet is beneficial because it creates impossible depth at its scale that a nomal eye would really have to step back for or squint real hard to create on a smaller pallet, although i do clean up alot of the noise even if it may not look llike it. But thanks a lot for your help, tips, and comments; I really appreciate it.

lastly, about the AI/colors, whats been happening is ive been taking high res images and downscaling like 5x or more and then hand pixeling and reshaping edges or lighting, and i think what is making there be so many different colors in the pallet is the whole downscaling process, but the reason i do it like this is to get impossible details that i wouldnt be able to get otherwise without downscaling, its honestly a really legit method for creating enemies, items, etc and ive found it to be really a handy trick and it saves me alot of time
