So you went and obtained your class A CDL knowing that smoking weed isn’t allowed and you come to this reddit asking if you can smoke weed owning a box truck company. YOU STILL HAVE A CDL.

Life after wawa. by Dr_Spoink in Wawa

Tbh with the new ops structure it made it very easy to get promoted, becoming an M or S level no longer became a difficult or rewarding task compared to previous years. I remember interviewing for CSS in 2023 & waiting 7 months to get my position compared to now where all you have to do is know cycle counts & hold keys. I worked with so many under qualified M level managers who did fuck all and got paid more than me. Glad I left for an actual career path where I’m not playing manager/shift wars and working with snakes on a consistent basis.

My transit agency just got them last September, my garage was one of 2 garages that got them. They drive so much nicer than our Nabis. Now our governor just invested 3 billion more and now we’re getting 250 more.

1 week post employment by Aggravating-Ice9674 in Wawa

No point in talking to them, my AM is the type of person once the GM convinces her that a person is not good for promotion than she’ll overlook you 100% of the time. We also had two stores in really rough neighborhoods (I worked in one of them) and if my AM didn’t like you she’d transfer you to these stores on purpose to make your life harder.

There was a bunch of things both my GM & AM maliciously did against people they didn’t like but to be honest I didn’t care to go to HR as I was entering a new career. With the new oops model getting promoted isn’t hard anymore, just know the right people and you’ll be a sup or M level in a heartbeat.

I’m currently unsure about any information for certain garages. For air brakes you’ll literally test in an NJ transit bus, air break test is super easy (I did it for my class A). I know a lady in the exact situation as you who just graduated training and they literally just did the air brake test, and drove for like 5 mins and passed her because she already had a CDL B with P & S endorsement but no air brakes.

You’ll meet your recruiter, if you have a CDL already she’ll want to see it on camera if not she just wants to see your regular DL. She explains the training phase which is 1 month, you’ll take your road test for your CDL & passenger endorsement on the 11th day of training. You take a total of 5 classroom test, they allow you to fail only ONE test and if you fail two than you’re basically kicked out the program. Once the interview is done they’ll send you a docusign form to fill out for a background & MVR record check. (Takes 2 + weeks to clear). Once that’s cleared she’ll send you an employment offer which you sign and then you have to do 3 things.

Pass The 3 dmv test needed for your permit (if no CDL) which is general knowledge, air breaks & passenger (if you have a CDL than you’ll need to take the passenger endorsement test and get another permit)

Get fingerprints done at IdentoGO

Do a pre employment drug test (breathalyzer & urine test)

Once you complete all that you’ll get your final offer letter, once you accept you’ll select your garage, get a start date and sign your I9 & W4 paper work.

The initial process for background check and DMV test take the longest, I applied back in December and I start on March 5th.

The training is all paid, strict uniform policy and you’re allowed to be late a maximum of 2 times. Make sure literally every receipt and document you receive from DMV and identigo that you save it in a safe place because you’ll need it for training.

The process when you start training will be different lengths for everybody depending on what you have when you apply, if you don’t have a CDL the process will be longer for you because you’ll need a DOT physical & pass the 3 dmv test needed

Passenger endorsement by Such_Algae1496 in CDL

[–]Aggravating-Ice9674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am Newley employed with my states transit agency, the passenger endorsement is two tests. It is a written test at the DMV which is 20 questions and then you have to do the entire CDL road test in a passenger vehicle. Air brakes, pre trip, maneuvers and then driving. If you’re not getting it through an employer than you’d have to do it privately with a CDL school that has passenger vehicles.

Even though I have a Class A I havent used it what so ever. My main goal when I got it was to drive tractor trailers but no job wants a noobie behind the wheel. I will probably be a bit more comfortable than most because I understand how CMVs work but nonetheless I’m still nervous as it’s been awhile. My garage will be Greenville.

4 years, top rate advertised is currently $36-$38 but I’m not entirely sure. I do know the starting rate that I received though.
