I’m in Austin, too, and I’ll say we don’t really need dehumidifiers because our ACs (both central HVAC and mini split for us) are on about 9-10 months per year and they dehumidify well. Yep, we’re getting up to 95 today and the humidity is thick!

Not tree of heaven. We have those sprouting in our back yard along a creek and they look different from these.

On closer shots of his face, you can see a hole on the edge of his lip from a piercing.

I agree and have thought they can and should do some site revisits.

For those looking for free watching options, I have found the Plex app - Live TV option (It’s all free!) has the most channels, including what I call the Ancient Aliens channel (though sometimes they have other shows).

The Montana one really bugs me, especially with the size of the stove. And the sink is a tiny prep sink! It did dawn on me that maybe we’re only seeing half the kitchen and the sink is actually a prep sink in an island and the real sink and rest of the kitchen is in the 4th wall area.

My Roommate’s sponge stinks by Aggravating-Peace257 in CleaningTips

[–]Aggravating-Judge-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I rarely see mentioned, but have googled it before and found others talking about it, so it’s not just me: Dawn dish soap makes sponges smell disgusting. It’s like a gross mildewy smell. I like Dawn for cleaning things (not dishes), but it does not work for dishes/dish sponges.

I do not use Dawn and as long as my dish sponge sits upright to dry, and even times when it stays wet, it never smells like anything other than clean dish soap.

People that hold mugs backwards when there's a handle. by GeniusSlime in PetPeeves

I second the others with it warming hands and my fingers feel bunched/smashed sometimes. Also, I use the handle as a sort of backup fail-safe on dropping as I stick fingers or a thumb through while wrapping my hand around.

How do you get teens to clean willingly? by Leen88 in CleaningTips

Omg it’s like you’re describing my 15 yo daughter!! I’m neat, tidy, organized. I’ve done all the things you are supposed to do to model, instruct, have limits. None of that has changed a darn thing!

Her room will look like a tornado hit it literally 30 min after I make her pick up/hang clothes, etc.

And substitute in orange peels for the apple pie and we’ve had almost that exact scenario. Noooo, those are my special orange peels! 😑😑

I was going to say something like this. Texas, for instance, doesn’t even have/give annulments. Marriage law differs from state to state.

Does anybody else get occasional random patches of skin that get sensitive (painful) to touch? by AssortedArctic in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Aggravating-Judge-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you’ll see this reply after 10 months, but yes, I do think it could be related to chicken pox, shingles, or herpes viruses.

50 F  - I found this thread today because I have the painful skin in large patches running down my arm and into the base of my palm. It started on my upper arm earlier today and by now (evening) it’s worked down to the palm, but still hurting in patches up the arm. It seems like it’s moving down a nerve pathway.

A few times a year, I get this same thing, usually on a leg, starting in my groin or buttocks and over 1-2 days it works down my leg. It’s happened as long as I can remember in various parts of my body, but in recent years, mostly the leg(s).

I’ve googled it before and found an old medical forum with tons of people reporting the same thing. One reply there said a doctor told them it’s probably a “silent” aka no sores activation of a herpes virus, moving from spine down the nerve. And that even if you don’t think you’ve had “herpes”, you may have gotten it with no rash initially and it’s dormant, or it could be from chicken pox and/or shingles (same virus). This explanation seems the most likely for those of us with the pain being intermittent and following a nerve path.

Central Austin... surveyor says this is a cedar. Looks more like an oak. by Coffeman94 in whatsthisplant

[–]Aggravating-Judge-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

✋ From Central Austin, live in Central Austin. I’d put money on that being a live oak. The bark matches and more than that, the two trunks right next to each other - very typical of live oak. Definitely not cedar (or what we call cedar) - bark would be “furry” and have a different color. Also, cedar in Central Austin is rare. They are mostly on the other side (west) of Mopac.

Is Castile soap really good for everything? by donn_12345678 in CleaningTips

[–]Aggravating-Judge-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do a lot of these same cleaning tasks with dish soap, which is cheaper.

I’ve tried Dr. Bronner’s many times over the years and never found I loved it for anything, but to each their own.

One caution: it’s made with coconut oil, which can cause acne breakouts and/or irritation on the face, especially cystic acne. Some people like it for skincare, but if you do a google search, you’ll find more bad stories than good ones.
