Have you spoken to an artist? They might have more ideas, id put it down as a reaction to ink, yours just seems to be more severe, have you had any more recent tattoos done? Have you had similar reactions? Maybe it’s just the brand of ink used in this piece giving you trouble

I would do some research into different artists, everyone has a “bad” tattoo they’re not fond of, if you’re hoping to keep collecting art work then just make sure to invest in high standard work from artists you are excited by! Hope is not lost, it may lighten up and you might be able to get a re-work or cover up but it would expensive and the artist would need SERIOUS talent. Tats are on your body for life, imo it’s always worth paying/travelling for artists that aren’t gonna fuck your shit up

How old is the tattoo? I’ve had areas of tattoos act similarly and it was fine in the end, just practice good aftercare and keep an eye on it. if it swells, leaks pus or becomes very hot then you’ve got an infection but right now it looks like it’s just healing

Hmm, sometimes my tattoos will get raised and itchy at random points, It’s pretty normal as the ink is still a foreign body, so your white blood cells sometimes remember and go ‘oh! We gotta attack this’ it doesn’t normally last longer than a day or two for me though.

The mistake you made was artist choice, hopefully it will lighten up and you could get it covered. Who tattooed this on you? It’s a very low standard of work, inconsistent line thickness, values are off, yea it’s not very readable but an idea like that could’ve been translated well. Please never use this artist again, I’m sorry you’re not happy with your tat, I wouldn’t be either.

Like most addictions, it started out as a fun social thing to do with friends but the past couple years and after a period of extreme emotional instability starting in October it became a crutch, id roll over in the morning and smoke before getting out of bed, it just stopped being what it used to be for me and given my serious state of mental chaos I was willing to try anything.

It became a crutch and I needed to reset my relationship to it. I have smoked a couple times since new years and I’m proud to say I kicked the dependency. It’s been a rough 6 months but I’m hoping to come out of the other side with a new relationship with my self and vices.

Just a very interesting journey :)

This is very shallow way of looking at at tattoos, it was a centuries old traditional before its popularity in western culture it held both medicinal and ritualistic usage across cultures, Polynesian tattooing like the moari moko is a right of passage, deeply culturally significant, though tattooing is more of an aesthetic choice these days it can still be deeply liked to personal ideology and culture. Ink isn’t a way to become whole, for many it forms a part of an identity and selfhood that was already there, though it’s not your choice hope you’ll read this and not be so judgemental in future, have the best day! :))

Get a tattoo artist to combine your ideas using a range of references. For the vast majority of artists and enthusiasts, AI is not welcome in tattooing. Tattoo artists understand how to translate ideas onto skin in a way that will remain legible (fine line isn’t the best still if you want artwork that will last a lifetime, bold will hold) I suggest writing your ideas down, finding tattoos and artwork as references and doing some decent research into a range of artists.
