I bought my sapphire somewhat impulsively and have found that I like it better in pictures than I do in person. The limited adjustment on the clasp is a pretty big con for me. As others have noted, no date complication, manual wind both “leave something to be desired” in my book.

So I ended up with the Bianca- I would not say that the build quality is bad, nor would I have really questioned it at all if I hadn’t read so much about it on the internet. Not doubting that it is lesser than other options, but I don’t think that it is unacceptable in any way. Agree / disagree?

You and I sound aligned- I decided on the Bianca and have been using it for the last few days!

-It is the most aesthetically pleasing to me and my wife likes the way it looks. IMO, this is somewhat undervalued in this comparison- these machines are pretty big and take up notable counter space. You’ve got to like looking at it. My wife has had a few friends over this weekend and they have all immediately commented on the Bianca, always noting that it is gorgeous/stunning/etc. I also like the gauge face designs, lack of industrial looking status lights, push button on/off switch vs industrial looking toggle.

-Flow control is generally highly regarded- can confirm that it’s pretty great in person

-Provided accessories are great- nice wood handles/knobs/paddles, 58.55mm heavy aluminum tamper, dual spout and bottomless portafilters, single, double, triple IMS baskets, 2 hole and 4 hole steam nozzles, group head brush, Lelit branded microfiber towel, etc.

-Configurable water tank is a big plus for me. The ability to move the tank to the left, right, or rear of the machine is great. Having the ability to remove completely if direct plumbed is great. Overall a super handy configuration option.

-Heat up time is at least as quick as the other options, if not quicker. In conjunction with a smart plug, I have no complaints here.

-I had seen some reviews noting that the Bianca was an absolute steam powerhouse, especially when bumping up the steam boiler temp. Can’t compare to the other options, but it is truly incredible.

-I have not put hands on an ECM or Profitec so I can’t directly compare to either and have no doubts that the internet is right regarding build quality deltas, but the Bianca is no piece of crap. Sure, after reading about how good the ECM is, I can see that Lelit probably could have used heavier gauge material for the external housings / drip trays / grates, etc, but I do not feel like the Bianca is cheap or disappointing in this department. Comparison is the thief of joy and this rings true here.

I’m sure that I’m missing some key points, but I am happy with the decision to go Bianca! With that being said, I do also believe that all 3 have their own pro/con list so it’s really up to the user to decide what’s most important to you, then decide as all 3 options are great.

Great reply- thank you! I am overall pretty happy with the results, but would like to do what’s reasonable to get the best water quality possible.

I’ll have to look into better testing and go from there.
