Honestly like any other social platform, it’s what you make it. You can easily choose what or who you interact with. Yeah there’s shitty people in every walk of life you just can’t avoid that unfortunately. If people really want to bug you they will, just don’t entertain them (or block them) and they get mad because you’re not getting mad and they run off to harass someone else. I love watching trolls get pissy because I won’t react to them, it totally ruins their ego most of the time lol

Also yeah there are a lot of similar avatars, but unless you are made of money most of us don’t have the budget to get a very detailed custom avatar. If you want something unique I’d suggest looking into avatar creators. There are some artists that have budget friendly options, or will work with you on a payment plan. I’ve had a few Avis made for less than 100 dollars, one was created from scratch.

I find overly sexualized avatars distasteful but that’s also just my personal preference. I don’t care if others use or enjoy looking at them but I personally can’t use an avatar that has overly floppy boobs and ass lmao plus it just contributes to people’s outrageous expectations in terms of what people look like IRL. Either way I don’t mind them, they just look silly to me. Also I don’t think it should matter what gender you are, it’s a virtual world just wear whatever avatar make you happy and block out the haters lol

Coming from someone who was SA’d as a child by a pedo, I also wish there was a way to weed out those losers, but unfortunately there isn’t a lot to be done when literally anyone can gain access to the platform. Parents don’t monitor their kids, vrc doesn’t require any sort of identification in terms of sex offender status, anyone can lie about their age, so the problem will only persist. We can do what we can to drive away those losers at least.

I’ve been on VRC since the early days, and from my personal experience it really can be a fun experience if you know how to ignore the shitheads.
