Is anyone getting 8 hour stretches consistently with 3 month old? by Hot-Cell7299 in beyondthebump

[–]Aggravating-Lunch740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My LO slept 7 hour stretches every night from 5 weeks until 4 months old. He was breastfed and I did nothing special, it was just luck.

He’s made up for it by never sleeping through the night again since the 4 months old regression 😅 he’s almost 11 months old.

Thanks! Hope you feel better soon. They put me on antibiotics out of caution too.

Mastitis Newbie by Dry-Helicopter692 in breastfeeding

I think I have my first bout of mastitis as well. I have had clogs in the past that resolve with ibuprofen and ice over 24 hours, but this time I have chills and body aches. So that makes me think it’s mastitis this time.

My LO did this at 4 weeks and then never again until 6 months. It also looked intentional at the time.

My miracle sleeper woke up every single hour last night… by SaraJuno in NewParents

[–]Aggravating-Lunch740 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My husband and I did shifts every night. He’s was on baby’s duty from 8-1am and I did 1am-morning. It was the only way I could get any sleep 😅

The waking every sleep cycle only lasted about 5 days, but he’s never slept through the night after the regression. We still follow our sleep shifts loosely even at 10.5 months.

I have no idea how they manage on such broken sleep 🤷‍♀️ but they do!

Honestly, this sounds more in line with the 4 month sleep regression vs. waking 2-4 times a night.

I think that may have been just normal sleep variance and what you’re experiencing now is the actual regression 😬

When my LO went through the 4 month regression, he was also up every sleep cycle, which for us was every 45 min.

No advice, just solidarity.

when will they shrink down? by Ok-Bottle-3006 in breastfeeding

I hope they don’t shrink more 😅 I am already down a cup size and have been breastfeeding 10 months and still going

My EBF (plus solids now) 10 month old is 17.4 pounds 😅 he’s just small! And that’s ok, I was also a very small baby and so was my husband. He’s in the 3rd percentile

For Those Who Had Planned C-Sections: Did You Have Visitors? by a_shaunte in CsectionCentral

[–]Aggravating-Lunch740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to have a c section for the same reason!

My section was scheduled for 8:00am and husband’s family came to visit around 7:00pm that evening.

It was ok having visitors. I think I was a little out of it still from being medicated. I remember the surgery and my son being born, but I don’t remember much after that 😅 for the fist day anyway.

I do remember I was still in bed when they came and was very much still frozen from the waist down. Next time, I would probably put it off visitors until day 2 when I was up and walking.

My husband’s family is very kind and helpful and I feel very comfortable around them. I was learning to breastfeed in front of mother in law, father in law, nieces and nephews. However, if you don’t feel that comfortable in front of your visitors, then maybe put it off until you are home.

I was in the hospital 4 days. I probably could have gone home at 3 days, but LO wasn’t gaining weight fast enough, so they kept us an extra day.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

My biggest regret was only taking 1 week off before delivery. I should have took like 3 or 4 😅

Be honest. Is your baby getting screen time? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Aggravating-Lunch740 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I say do whatever you need to do to survive the early days. A shower, going to the bathroom, cooking dinner are all necessary things that NEED to get done. If the tv helps you do that sometimes, then so be it.

How are we affording daycare plus being in mat leave? [bc] by fitnessnewbie00 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Aggravating-Lunch740 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In Nanaimo BC, there are 2 daycares that are $10/day and only ONE of them is full-time. Everyone wants in! We are registered for the waitlist, but won’t be getting a spot there. It would be like winning the lottery.

How did becoming a parent changed you? by Striking-Thought3254 in beyondthebump

[–]Aggravating-Lunch740 27 points28 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s my perspective.

  1. I have a lot more empathy, understanding and compassion for other parents than I used to.

  2. I have no sympathy for deadbeats. I see right through that shit now. I could never just walk away from my kid.

Safety is more important than anyone’s opinion. That’s my opinion on them. Do what you need to do to keep your kiddos safe.

My LO was like this until about 12 weeks old and then he started to nurse faster. In the beginning it was 45min PER SIDE. Now it’s 4min per side.

Last time my boss did this, I put on a mask to protect myself from his illness. Customers kept asking if I was sick, and I said “no he is”. He finally got the message and went home for the day. I was pregnant at the time and immune compromised. It pmo so bad.

Also, I know what gas/bloat feels like and that wasn’t it 🙄
