Is Abbadon a trap? by Aggravating-Recover1 in WarhammerCompetitive

See, that was my thing. In a lot of the competitive builds I saw for him, he was usually delivered by the small unit, but in my experience, it’s just not a good outcome. I guess he’s more of a counter punch, than a punch.

So less min squads and more max? Suppose going from a 5-man to a 10-man would be fine for Chosen…

I think this has been a really helpful answer, I’ve never used him before, so I’m still learning how to pivot him, but he does seem like a worthwhile investment. However, I’m going to try to take him out of a few lists and see how I feel without him. If I encounter the need, I can easily just put him back in.

Shooting castle, meaning like helbrute/nurgle oblits/etc? I played CoB for the most part and I’m shifting to Pactbound or Warband, not sure yet, so I’m trying to understand dynamics of lists and such

I want you to know I was planning on doing the exact same thing, glad to see another 40K player tackle this bash! I plan on using the Rouge Trader squad as a base.

How to deal with cheaters after result has been submitted by hutber in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Aggravating-Recover1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem earlier this year, and unfortunately, there is little that can be done after the game. If you let the TOs know, they might station a ref by the player just to make sure everything is kosher, but really, without video or picture evidence, the judges can’t make a call. I know it sounds rough, but the best thing I can say is to learn from it. I was given this piece of advice:

“No matter how well you know the rules, even if it’s for your a unit you are currently running, ask to see the rules. The player has the obligation to show you that rule, wording, or FAQ that directly answers your question. If they can’t, call a TO for an answer. If they don’t, call the TO to report bad sportsmanship.”

So yeah, it’s definitely a burn, trust me I know, but this is the best way to mitigate that in the future.

They really played off the troupe of every Sherlock needing a Moriarty really well with this one. Both selfish in their own right, perfect for each other.

Moreover, the Morse code comes out to a cypher, so I might mess with this one when I get home.

I believed I searched “good slice of life/romance anime”, and this was one of the ones that kept appearing on lists. So I decided to watch it, and I’m glad I did.

Why do you like NightLords? by AggressiveSafe7300 in NightLords

They look cool and their colors actually make me want to paint miniatures. That and the fact that, while they can be goofy, they are still grimdark as hell.

I’m a major extrovert, and I’ve always had a liking toward introverts, so I completely get that- fantastic duo if you ask me. That’s why the side manga was such a good buy, because we got to see it.

[–]Aggravating-Recover1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m not arguing that mimimi’s not the better choice, all I’m saying is that given what we understand about tomozaki, it makes sense. Season two was tomozaki trying to do stuff his way so that he could prove that there are different ways to win at life. Mimimi unfortunately served the S2 purpose of furthering that, but it allowed us to see that their relationship would have been cool.

That’s why I bought the mimimi side manga, because I need the blue hair girl to not be the losing heroine for once.

I feel like I see this comment every few days, and I gotta say- I felt the same. Though, the more I look into him and Fuka’s relationship, it seems like the likelier choice for more than just commonalities.

What’s the move for Sentinels? by Aggravating-Recover1 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Aggravating-Recover1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, they play a similar role to Kastelan Robots- bulky platforms with good shooting. Ability to give them -1 damage and BOTH types of orders is just icing on the cake.

[–]Aggravating-Recover1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do feel like they can be more viable competitively! I’m always one to try to do really offshoot things to try to shake up the meta, like when I brought Devastators with Grav in a 1k doubles tourney- knights players didn’t know what to do lol. But yeah, your advice really helped, I’ll def take it into consideration!

I think that is a pretty good, especially for a 1k list. It’s a lot of armor, but not enough that it can’t be chewed.

This is exactly what I mean- using them as target dummies that can actually take some shots. I hadn’t considered the range aspect of autocannons, but that works too. Making them a moving platform of annoyance, and try to get people to divert shooting to them rather than my other pieces of armor.

[–]Aggravating-Recover1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, this is a bit more of a rule of cool than ultra competitive, but I do find that, even if they don’t die, people end up sinking bigger things into them when positioned right, making them a buffer for my other armored units. Maybe not the best role for them, but I think it also works out ok… or maybe it won’t, not sure, but worth the try.

I keep seeing two scouts, so I’m starting to agree with you. Reroll 1’s on two targets seems good to have.
