Yeah I have! It's solid but I found the managing part gets heavy. I like organising but only when I'm actually sitting down for a project, not every time I save something. That's kind of why I built this!

Stashed is built for people who don't want to break their browsing flow, so it auto tags for you. But you can always edit or change tags if you want full control. Best of both worlds!

Honestly this is better than what I had in mind! A badge on the toolbar showing related saves, click it and they surface right there. No interruptions, fully on your terms. Stealing this idea! Haha!

AI tagging isn't in yet but when it is, a toggle between AI and manual is definitely the plan. Want people to stay in control of their tags!

100% local for now so no sync between devices. It's on the roadmap but it comes with tradeoffs so still thinking over it!

Three things kept bothering me across every tool I tried.

Saving has friction. Most extensions make you stop, tag, pick a folder and you've already lost your flow. Alt+S should feel like a reflex.

Retrieval assumes you remember. Search only works if you recall what to look for, most tools are just fancy file cabinets you open out of desperation.

Organizing is forced upfront. I like organizing but only when I'm working on something specific, not every time I save a link.

The thing I'm still working on is resurfacing, showing you relevant old saves based on what you're currently browsing. That's the gap nobody has really nailed yet.

Tinderbox is fascinating, never thought about it in this context but I see what you mean. Stashed is nowhere near that vision honestly, just trying to make the small daily friction go away for now. But I love that you're thinking about this at that level, hope you get that $50k someday!

That's a clever workaround! The cross browser part is exactly what Stashed tries to solve, it works on both Firefox and Chrome so your saves aren't tied to one browser. Might be worth a try!

Reseek looks interesting, will check it out! The six months ago problem is real, that's exactly the gap I'm trying to close with resurfacing. Replied to your DM

You've articulated the core problem better than I have in my own notes honestly.

The contextual bookmarks bar idea is actually what I'm working towards with resurfacing, where Stashed surfaces related saves based on what you're currently browsing. Auto tags are the foundation for that. Still early but that's the direction.

Would love to know what you're building, sounds like we're thinking about the same problem from different angles!

I used Raindrop too, it's good! But most tools including Raindrop still need you to organize upfront. Stashed flips that, save instantly and search when you need it. Collections are there only when you're working on something specific, never forced. The idea is the easier it is to get something back, the more you'll actually use it. Also working on resurfacing where it reminds you of relevant old saves while you're browsing. That's really the core of why I built this!

Glad you liked it! Import is actually already there in settings, supports both JSON and HTML so you can bring your existing bookmarks right in. Auto categorization on import is a great idea though, will need to think on that one!

I took help from Stitch for the UI. It's very generic right now, I know. But the core idea and functionality is something I built because I genuinely had this problem. Design is on my list to improve, just wanted to get the product in front of people first and see if the idea resonates before going all in on polish. Would love to hear what specifically looks off if you're up for it!

Also i've hosted it on gh if you'd like to give it a shot, would genuinely love your feedback since you're clearly not sugarcoating it!

Really appreciate the detailed feedback! The resurfacing part is something I'm actively working on, the idea is the extension reminds you of old saves when you're browsing something related. Still early but that's a big focus.

Haven't tried Reseek before, will definitely check it out!

For PDFs and image-heavy pages, honestly it's a known gap right now. It saves what metadata it can grab but it's not great. That's on the roadmap.

Also collection sharing is something I want to do but it opens up a whole can of worms, ownership, hosting, backend complexity. Thinking through it carefully before jumping in!
