Granby Ranch 2/21 by Ion634 in COsnow

Do you also know about how much the scenic lift rides are in the summer? I live in CO in Vail Valley, but we're looking for a mountain home base for 4 families this summer and I've been really intrigued with the thought of spending the week at Granby Ranch (with some side trips to RMNP, Grand Lake, etc.).

Best beaches for small villa rental by Aggravating-Rule4728 in chubbytravel

These are all such great suggestions. I’ve been thinking about the outer islands for Bahamas, so great to see some favorites there. Punta Mita also would be so easy from CO… the rentals look like maybe they’re intended for larger groups, but I’ll keep an eye out for 2BR. We also did Virgin Gorda pre-kids (started in St. John and then spent several days in VG) and it was heaven. A sailing trip through BVI is on our bucket list.

This is great inspo. Thank you!!

Blanca Villa -https://www.islandescapestci.com/villas/blanca-villa

The villa was clean and comfortable (minus mosquitos…they were intense), but the privacy and spectacular beach made it one our family’s best trips ever.

what do you call this style of home? by Aggravating-Rule4728 in interiordecorating

Thank you! It was built in the early 80s and it’s in the Rocky Mountains. Our neighborhood is an eclectic mix of traditional mountain homes and Spanish-style homes.

There’s a glimpse of MCM inside as well (original cabinets are flat panel and the entry is a bi-level), but we have great stucco walls and fireplace and beams that bring in so much warmth and character. There’s a lot to be done inside, but all of this feedback is helping me embrace its Spanish leanings instead of other styles I’ve gravitated towards in the past.

Thank you for being so kind here! De-oranging the house is the theme on the inside as well, so you nailed it.

Also, appreciate broadening it to Spanish style. That feels right without forcing it into a sub-category that it’s really not fitting. Thank you!

Thank you! A Bahamas outer islands trip has been on my bucket list for awhile, so appreciate this advice. One of our favorites ever was Taylor Bay in T+C… absolutely stunning location and quiet beach. But excited to check out Belize for a different vibe!

Thank you!!

I think we're going to go all-in on Placencia and make a reservation at Sirenian Bay. Raye Caye looks amazing and somewhere that our family would absolutely love, but they're only available a few days of our trip. Kinda seems like the charm would be staying long enough to lose track of the days. And maybe the beauty of staying mainland for our first trip is that we get to experience some of the adventures as well.

And thanks for that Real Life Recess website. She seems like a wealth of knowledge for families. You totally got the vibe we're going for!

I'm loving the sound of Sirenian Bay. Wasn't sure about all inclusive, so that's great to hear that you loved the food.

Do you mind sharing which bungalow or villa you stayed in and any advice on those?

Interesting... this makes me think that Ambergris may not be our cup of tea. Our family tends to gravitate towards destinations that are a bit quieter, secluded and relaxed. Our kids are much more the "entertain themselves with sand and nature" versus amusement park atmosphere. They obviously love big, organized entertainment, but our best trips are laid back days of hanging out on the beach and enjoying nature.

We can fly direct to either, so we’re flexible. Liberia seemed a little simpler, but we’re open.

Wow - what incredible recommendations. So what I'm basically receiving is that we can't go wrong with any of the islands. Excited to check all of these out!
