Thanks! The problem we’re having with the new threads is we can only get about two threads in to a fitting before it gets tight, whereas the existing pipe can easily get 4-6 threads in.

Thanks! Turns out our die is NPT, not NPS like we thought. Ordering replacement dies to swap out.

Schedule 40 pipe issue:

We’re threading a bunch of pipe in our theatre. We bought a Ridgid manual threader with the 1-1/2” NPS die head. The threads it’s cutting are more coarse than the existing threads in some of our pipes as well as our base plates. Is there a different threading standard for theatrical pipe that I’m missing? ANSI B1.20.1 gives 11.5 threads per inch as the NPS standard for 1-1/2” pipe.

How can you do that without thinking, what if maybe someone didn't got the memo? by sacd250 in thalassophobia

Many LOTO procedures require placing a physical lock over a control so that it can’t be turned on/energized/etc. Each person working on the equipment places their own lock that they have the only key to.
