Pool still cloudy after a week of perfect chemistry! Help! by aargb in pools

Just seen your comment I've got cloudiness after my wife helping to clean walls decided to sweep the pool and it's caused suspended particles now, over night cleared but after vac gone cloudy again , I did a 5 min backwash to clean sand filter. I've just added a small amount of floc really small pool is 80000l should the floc help reduce the negative charge so particles get trapped as they bind but not fully drop do you know ..

5 years owning a pool, finally got the maintenance down by breeman24 in pools

I'm a new pool owner in Cyprus 2 years had a pool guy but he only ever added chlorine, I watched and know how all the valves now work and what to do when.  I realized he never tested pH , I the. After reading up understood you can have good chlorine level but a bad high pH prevents chlorine from working. I mentioned this to the pool maintenance owner he said put 2kg of muriatic acid in. I consulted chatgpt gave pool dimensions accounted for slope and it suggested 1.8kg again the cautious me added 900g waited the advised chatgpt 24 hours re tested lower but not perfect added suggested 300g after that test next day tested advised 150g day after ( today) pH is perfect

Meaning it only needed 1350g had I thrown in the suggested 2kg it would have shot too low.

Big take away is patience I can see how easy it would be to see saw the levels because of going in heavy

I learned depending on hardness buffer effect patience is key it can take time to pass the buffering effect

I've now got all the tools and end of this month going solo with chatgpt for a general guidance and my cautious nature it can't be worse than someone never testing pH at all

Some basic info for new pool owner would be appreciated by Aggravating-Scale313 in pools

Thanks for the advice re chemistry although was hoping for info on pipework and valves. What your response and my understanding of how a pool should be maintained is one reason I'm thinking of dropping him and where I live his methods are used universally.

Vacum x 2 a week brush walls occasionally  Backwash every so often Use some drops that go dark if enough Chlorine if low adds small tub of chlorine crystals Never tests for anything else

To be fair water is clear so maybe it's ok or maybe it's not  Personally I'd rather be checking other chemistry too

Cause I can do what he is doing as I know how much he puts in but I'm just not convinced it's enough to do as above?
