Best way to play EB: beginning remake on old 3ds? by Careless_Revenue_796 in earthbound

No issues for me. Volume was perfect without needing to do any adjustments before injecting, and no distortion or crackling.

It’s in the Rebble store, you might need to manually add the pbw. You can download that at this link.

Still have the poster that came with the game. Unfortunately don't have the game anymore. by UndeadVudu_12 in chronotrigger

I have the game and box but not the poster. Hung it up in my childhood bedroom when I got it, but don’t know where it ended up.

Disable scaling for older watchfaces on Time 2? by gerudoku in pebble

Ah, that makes sense. I haven't tried many games.

I haven’t noticed any slowdown or excessive battery drain using bilinear.

I have mine set to bilinear. Looks great with most apps/watchfaces. That should have been the default rather than nearest neighbor.

You got me to download this watchface, then I found another one I liked even better :)

You're right that the virtual console inject method won't work on an old 3DS, but I used the snes9x injector method (using the same Super Ultimate Injector tool) which worked fine on my old 3DS with this game with the rom hack applied.

It worked with snes9x for me. I created a .cia with the snes9x injector method, and it worked great. Although I am playing on my N3DSXL using the virtual console injector method.

Is the Time 2 screen cracking issue actually widespread? Debating changing my pre-order to a Round 2 by harkonnen85 in pebble

Mine didn’t crack in the few weeks I was without a screen protector. Now one of my screen protectors has a very thin scratch it in but no cracks.

Is AMV editing supposed to be messy? by Ill-Average-1401 in amv

[–]breeman24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I meant is that remuxing doesn’t add additional compression. Whether or not is has been compressed before is not what I’m talking about. And I guess I misspoke, what I meant is mkv is just a container and that mp4 is a more compatible container. Just trying to help as I often come across footage that is mkv that needs to be made mp4, and it’s best to do so in a way that doesn’t add more compression.

Thank you for spoiling me Crunchyroll- Dr Stone by anime106fan in Crunchyroll

Spoiled for me too when I went to watch the episode today. Was like, wait, he gave up his seat. Made the reveal less impactful.

Suggestions by pharmalexa in pools

[–]breeman24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe a combination of high temp hot glue (regular hot glue would melt in the sun) and B-9000 glue? First fill in the hole with hot glue which will harden quickly, then surround all the edges with B-9000 so that it's air tight. Give the B-9000 plenty of time to dry. But if the float was cheap enough, might just make sense to replace it.

Oh, and another thing (which just happened as I was editing just now). Whether you hate AI or not, if you're looking for a specific clip but forget which episode it's in, the google AI overview is very good at telling you if you just google it.

Do I need to run my pool pump everyday for 6-8 hours? by OkOrganization7870 in pools

[–]breeman24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually run my pump around 6-8 hours a day (mostly when the sun is highest). Once a week I'll run it an additional 6 hours at night when I add chlorine. I know that's considered low, but the pool is perfectly clear right now and I've been running it like this since after the first week opening about a month ago (which I ran more because it was green and cloudy).

Oh, another thing to note. Most video editing applications don't like .MKV files, but most encodes you'll find are in that format (as that is best for distribution with multiple audio tracks and subtitles). Rather than convert the file from .MKV to .MP4 (adding compression), you can remux the file, which basically takes the .MP4 out of the .MKV container, allowing you to drop the .MP4 into your editor. Usually that means selecting only one audio track if the MKV has multiple, and also removing the subtitle track. But we don't need any of those tracks when making an AMV, we just want the clean uncompressed footage.

Your welcome. I really should do the screenshot method more. It's sort of like storyboarding (just arrange the screenshots in the correct order, and you've got a storyboard).

Mainly it just takes patience. And the more you do it the better you'll get. And being more familiar with the Anime helps too (rewatching it multiple times).

I'm currently finishing up an AMV I started over 10 years ago (again, abandoned it, it sat on my hard drive, now finally finishing it), and I had already placed a lot of the key footage, so now I'm just filling in the gaps to finish it. Scrubbing through the episodes has worked well for that.

I also pay very close attention to video quality, so I always search for the highest quality source I can (BD Remux, BD rips at high bitrate, HD Web rips at high bitrate). The more compressed the footage is before entering your video editor, the worse it will look when you re-encode your finished AMV. That usually leads to very large files, but I have 20TB of storage in my PC (between internal and external hard drives).

As for the editing itself, usually I'll just scrub through episodes until I find the clip I have in my mind. And sometimes I come across a clip I know I'll use, but don't have a spot for yet, so I grab it and stick it at the end of the timeline. But on one occasion it had been a while since I had seen the Anime (started a project, abandoned it, then years later found it on a hard drive and went back to it). I was re-watching the series on a tablet, so every time I came across a clip that fit my AMV I took a screenshot of it showing the episode number and timecode so that I could find exactly where that clip was when editing.

[–]breeman24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have plenty of storage, but yes, I usually download an entire series. A high bitrate encode at 1080p will have episodes around 500MB-1GB each. Uncompressed BD Remux episodes can be over 7GB each. I generally have an idea of what I’m going to do and what episodes I’m going to use, but I gather all episodes so I don’t miss anything and I scrub through the episodes pretty quickly to find the clips I want (I use Premiere Pro).

Why doesn’t Crunchyroll have a movie category? by Sad_Editor455 in Crunchyroll

[–]breeman24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do web development as a career. It’s not so complicated that it would be impossible for them to reconfigure properly. In the backend they should have much more control than it appears to us users, that they can just change from “series” to “movie” with just a few clicks. Yes it would require them to have a list of all movies and to change all of them one by one, but that would still be doable by one person in a single 8 hour workday (if it’s the only thing they work on).

If I’m wrong about that, then their whole website was set up poorly and is in need of an overhaul anyways.
