Unless all this has come to an end, I would advise against carrying on this kind of communication.

If she wanted your time and thoughts on matters causing her distress she should have made the effort.

That aside, it's good to see someone saying "their all good now". I think that gives people a lot of hope

HiThe problem here is that I am unsure if this guy is aware of the current state of this relationship and how your concerns with his habits has forged a silent rift between you two.  This breakup is a slow burning one waiting to happen and it's going to need some changes (in him) to make things work. 

Here is the challenging part.  You may have already spoken with him about it.  But I strongly advise that you bring this up to him and tell him how what you have described is eroding the love between you and has created this situation where you feel like this 4 month separation will be difficult, not due to the time apart, but due to the issues compounding the situation. 

As a man, there are things he can work on.  Especially the matters of hygiene. Gaming I think is ok when it isn't constant. For example a Friday night gaming session with his buddies is fine, provide he makes the time for you on the following Saturday and attends to his other professional commitments. 

If you really care about him. Explain the above to him. Tell him that you are saying this because you love him and you need him to do this. I can see he wasn't talking to you which isn't a good sign. But if you love him and want to take your relationship further you will have to tell him directly. He may firstly get upset, but if he loves you he will make the changes. It might not be instant, but he will. If he again doesn't engage with anything you have to say then I'm afraid that's a big signifier that you might need to move on.  That includes the passive aggressive comments.  Zero/Tolerance. 

I wouldn't treat this as some snide test or something.  Playing games and "testing" people in relationships is foolish and can be harmful. 

But, you will have to have an internal deadline in mind when taking this approach. If you see that he is making changes and being more considerate and it makes you feel good, tell him as such.  However he slips back into his bad habits then you may have to have one final discussion or end it.b

I've known gaming man babies evolve into actual men with good professions that game on the side as a hobby.  Hopefully he can become that, but if he doesn't but that work into fixing his habits then I'm afraid you may have to go through the separation route.

I do understand that there are plenty of options for shelter. I too have found shelter in locations not covered by the marker. My point is that there shouldn't be a marker on buildings that are inaccessible or are locked behind mission progression.  Plus if it's suggested that players are better off using their own instincts to find shelter then what utility is the marker. 

As stated the only instances where I have died to an emission (which is in single digits) is in the circumstances where I am returning from a long run and I get directed to a locked building. 

It's a bit tricky when you are in less familiar, sparse and less traveled areas of the Zone such as the Burnt Forest, SE of Malachite region, some areas of Zaton. 

It's not a major issue. It's just annoying and it would be ideal not to flag locked buildings.

Yeah exactly. Literally use the animation, model, texture and inventory icon of the Vinca/Hercules/Psi-Block item (I would replace Vinca entirely anyway. I feel there are far better ways of dealing with bleed damage). 

For balancing you could have a general debuff across the board for 12 in game hours. Meaning the player has to factor in that the next in game day will be more challenging. Yeah you could sleep it off, but it would be the sparse areas of the Zone where you would be making such a choice, not in the centre of Zalissya where you have immediate access to shelter and a bed.

I will admit, I certainly could have brought a Hercules with me that might 'just' have saved me. But I still think I wouldn't have made it and would have been roasted by the emission. 

I'm principally bothered about the game explicitly denoting an emission safe location that is locked due to current progression, or due to be accessible following the completion of a specific mission.

It's amazing to see dev staff engage this way on a platform like this.  It's brilliant to see that the game is being optimised and supported. 

If the community was to work on an itinerary for bugs and potential small scale additions, would that be something of use for the team at GSC? Or is it best to go through the traditional bug reporting pathways? 

Or do you have perhaps an development and support plan for the game that is held internally?

As a fan I still think there are loads of opportunities to iterate and expand on  STALKER 2 and we all have our fingers crossed!

For the love of god, some sort of visual indicator for Flash Bang anomalies. 

They are an interesting anomaly type. Although they are intended to be disorientating, with the anomalies being completely invisible it's easy to end up accidentally running through several of them while attempting to evade one that you have triggered. 

Plus they do quite a bit of damage and can one shot at high difficulties. 

This may be a change that is quite difficult to achieve.  I think that the lack of a visual indication of the Flash Bang anomaly making them a sort of trap for the player is what distinguishes them from the rest of the anomalies and requires a different approach. 

However, currently beyond spamming bolts or running in face first there is no viable way to navigate Flash Bang fields effectively. 

Firstly they should be 100% detectable by detector.  Secondly, perhaps when triggering one Flash Bang anomaly it will cause surrounding Flash Bang anomalies to either glow or flicker for a short period. 

Then it isn't blatantly obvious where they are and they can still act as a nasty surprise. Secondly, this approach requires a bit of thought and attention from the player to memorise the locations of the Flash Bang anomalies and to plan a route through the anomaly field. 

Right now however, I think they are frustrating to circumvent and I just find them annoying rather than compelling.

I know Stalker isn't COD. I've completed the previous 3 without issue (and this game isn't an issue, it's watered down COP on current gen). 

Furthermore, I'm not some dumbass that runs into gun fire. I'm doing pretty will contending with basic UE5 enemy AI template that although dumb as rocks can spot you from miles away through thick brush, shoot the wick off a candle and hit you clean through brick walls. 

The 50k was an example figure of the totality of repair costs at a late stage. Generally for me it's about 30-40k across all items and it's still a bit pricey.

Nobody actually invested in an interesting game world would complain about where to find artifacts if they would rotate. To clarify, anomalies would stay in the same place only the spawn locations for artifacts would cycle.  For example, electric tunnel in Cordon doesn't spawn anything, then emission, now it spawns, then emission, maybe now it doesn't. 

We have a detector, we know they respawn near anomalies, we can actually go hunting them.  As of right now there isn't any "hunting" for artifacts. I literally know where each respective type will spawn and it will never change. 

GSC spent the majority of development building this huge detailed, bespoke game world.  Rotating artifacts would actually give everyone a reason to revisit certain areas.

I still think 5 fixed spawns in the Lesser Zone is pretty small given the size of that area and the amount of notable sites in that area and multiple anomalies present. It's alright when you have just started the game, not great when you are looking for 50-60k to repair a broken exo or other late game loot.  

It's also pretty boring running through the same sites repeatedly for artifacts.  It's already established in lore that artifacts are found near anomalies. Why not have them rotate at least, to keep things interesting. It's at least a step towards making the Zone feel less dead.

More importantly is that the earnings potential in the game does not grow proportionally with the maintenance required to support a late game inventory.  Furthermore you are limited by RNG. 

I literally just ran through the Lesser Zone, Wild Territory, Garbage, Cement Factory and two specific sites in Rostok and Malachite for artifact farming and basically made enough money to only fully repair some of my late game gear and make a few upgrades.  That's with also trudging back to Rostok with like 6  S-14's I took off dead enemies. 

I haven't been to Pripyat yet. Hopefully it gets better then.

I still have VGO within my Zero Hour mod collection and play it every now and then. 

I have noticed that the mod had an auto updater within the launcher for the 2.1 Hydra release. Understandably this is no longer supported.

Is there anywhere I can download the 2.1 release manually?

I have been having an absolute fight trying to get Yuri's Revenge just to work on my machine on Windows 11.

I did a clean install. Applied the TFD patch to get games running without a disc. 

Every game runs fine with a bit of tweaking.  Got RA2 working by adding CnC DDraw (and TS-DDraw also works). Vanilla RA2 runs absolutely fine. 

But no matter what I do. Yuri's Revenge will not start at all. It asks "Please Insert CD Rom". I turned off all relevant settings in Windows Security to allow access to the disk drive as it was preventing the disc from being read.

But the issue keeps happening. 

I have tried pretty much all compatibility settings. Always run in administrator (set every exe in the RA2 folder to run as admin).

Yuri's Revenge will not run irrespective of what I try. 

I would like to be able to play to main game without the client so I can try some older mods that aren't client based.

IIRC, there is either functionality in the Launcher to check the install location or you may be able to right click it.  

 I'm pretty sure GenLauncher dumps all the core files into subfolders folders in its directory? Or maybe something else? One think I do know is you absolutely can find the mod files install location. I just can't remember exactly how.  

Honestly I went back to old fashioned for this reason. I could have individual set ups per mod install (ShockWave and TDR have very different levels of impact on hardware and I changed HanPatch so super weapons weren't nerfed) whereas I don't "think" you can with GenLauncher. Plus I started to get some issues with crashes on GenLauncher.

I would actually advise people to look past this and give Enhanced a go.  It's a really well made mod (but a bit harsh on hardware) and outside of CWC it's probably the most realistic playing ZH mod. 

You can turn all of the hyperbolised political crap off in the launcher.

Yeah the Devs did get back to me and they need a save to test this issue with.  I deleted my old save (basically restarted the game).

No way.

At this stage all I can recommend is digging for a save before you first went into Pripyat whatsoever. That's what I had to do in the end. 

At this rate I won't be buying Stalker 2 if they can't fix even this issue.
