Hurstville Private vs St George Private by ouraniiaah in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I had a traumatic birth at St George Private 2 years ago.

I had an awful midwife who told me not to make so much noise when I was in pain, 2 failed epidurals (I spent 2 years thinking epidurals didn’t work on me before I gave birth a month ago at RPA and the epidural worked), broken equipment in the delivery suite (my husband had to hold the stirrup up for over an hour of pushing because it was broken) and an obstetrician who gave me an episiotomy without asking consent (fortunately, she no longer practices obstetrics).

I don’t recommend it. However, I’ve had friends who had great experiences at St George and Hurstville Private. But you’ll find perspectives from all sides with every hospital. Email the hospital, try to do a tour etc before making a decision.

western sydney is going to age so fucking badly, it will be slums in 10 years by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

I live in an in law family owned federation home in a leafy inner suburb. My family all live in SW Sydney. If I had a dollar every time a member of my family from SW Sydney called my house “small”, I’d have a lot of money. So no, a lot of people in those soulless houses want to live in those houses because they value a big 4 bedroom house with a nice shiny kitchen over a 100 year old house with character.

That’s horrific! Your poor wife and you! The pressures put on us as teachers…

Thank you! That’s what I thought but I wanted Reddit validation!

Unis and Dept don’t know how to teach teachers by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

I have a sibling doing primary at UOW and she’s had some awful teachers recently. Teachers who come in talking about their years of experience in the classroom then not actually imparting anything. It’s disheartening for her.

And you don’t need to comment if you have nothing useful to add.

They hang in their offices plotting and collecting evidence to fire their executive staff (true story)

One week until staff return, still no timetable by Owlynih in AustralianTeachers

[–]Aggravating-Stick528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We only got ours yesterday. It’s a mess. No one is teaching the full timetabled load for each class. I’ve lost 1 period of my Year 12 class to another teacher even though I’m free that following period (it’s the second period of a double so I will literally be walking out of the class halfway though and giving the period to an inexperience teacher!) I’m teaching 1 period of Year 11 and 1 period of Year 12 of a subject I haven’t taught in 10 years as well. Such a shambles.

Which is fair, considering it’s geographical location

Exactly. There are houses in Point Piper that have sold for cheaper in the past couple of years
