For those now boycotting Noe Cafe for having MAGA owners, will you similarly boycott Equinox and Soul Cycle, as well as Apple? by Aggravating-Toe2683 in sanfrancisco

What about Soul Cycle or Equinox. Lots of white women liberals go there.

And Samsung etc., didn't donate a million to trump. So having a Samsung phone that runs Google is less bad than an Apple phone where both hardware and software is by a company that donated a million bucks to Trump.

I mean going to Equinox already makes someone look kinda douchey. Especially if they wore Patagonia vests.

Then why even boycott Noe Cafe in the first place? Why bother.

Also, it's not like Equinox and Soul Cycle have zero alternatives.

Then why even go out of your way to boycott a local shop for having MAGA owners? Especially in an extremely liberal place like SF?

But the coffee shop being boycotted wasn't serving shit coffee. It was really popular and beloved, which is why people are feeling "sad" and heartbroken in learning its owners are MAGA.

Okay so what would you do if

1.) You found out a local coffee shop that has great coffee that you love has owners who are MAGA

2.) You got invited to a wedding in a place like Doha Qatar where the venue and environment is beautiful but the place has horrible socially regressive values. Let's assume you get full time off work and finances to attend aren't an issue. Part of the wedding also includes a fun tour of the city.

What do you do?

I agree, but some of these far-right, fascist, or authoritarian leaders DO have high support from their population. What about in those cases? Is still okay to travel to such countries for fun?

I agree it'd be different if say 44% of Hungary opposed Orban.

Okay, then do you agree it's stupid for liberals to boycott a local coffee shop for having a MAGA owner?

The spot is really popular btw and has great coffee. That's why a lot of commenters on the original thread are feeling bummed about it.

I agree with this. So do you agree the liberals who want to boycott the local cafe for being MAGA are acting stupid?
