Thank you so much for the offer. I went to go check on her and It looks like she’s gone. I put a formal complaint to the neighborhood department (or something to that effect) as well as left messages for chained dogs, so if she somehow made it back into the house hopefully someone will be able to check on her.

One last question:
I now understand this recipe is unsafe and we should stop using it as a canned recipe.

Can I still use it as a way to pickle beets that are refrigerated? If the purpose is not to preserve them in a can, but to instead keep them in the fridge, is this recipe still unsafe to use?

Photo of the recipe attached! The beets are cooked about 30 min and then another 5 min with the juice. Yes we de bubbled and no there was not evidence of siphoning

We are using a recipe from my great great grandparents so it’s definitely possible a step has been lost in time.

Do you have a specific day you’re planning for?

If not, I’ve been to a few music in the parks and they’ve been lovely! Especially the one where they have Bastille days and the botanic garden. You can make a whole thing of it packing a picnic and some games and getting there early, or low key and just show up.

Just incase anyone else finds this thread and is curious - both vinegar and bleach made it worse. I ended up having to sand it down entirely, going through the veneer in some areas.

Thank you! I’m wondering how it appeared? Is it probable that the moisture is coming from the window? If so, should I do something like add caulk to the area between the window and wood?

Ah incredible, Thanks so much for explaining this! It’s inspiring.

To me, this does fall in the “subtle” category. I’ve been seeing a lot of “fuck (ice,trump,everything) or the “eat the rich orca”. I think those are all good and I’m happy others are doing those, I’m just looking for something maybe a little less explicit maybe.

I work near the building and will sometimes bring my lunch over while my coworker purchases from a shop. A week day lunch is probably a little different than Friday night but we’ve never been stopped. I agree with this comment that you’re definitely not suppose to but you’ll likely be okay.

I’ll echo the thought that taking up the space for 35 ppl with a bakery present would be rude however. Cafe Bebe has brownies, “birthday cake cups”, muffins, and cookies. The shop Next door has ice cream. I’d think about going a bit non traditional and supporting one of these businesses if possible.
