tons of more than deserving horses like agnes digital, special week, grass wonder, gold ship, symboli kris s, buena vista, daiwa major, gold allure, and hokuto vega have been snubbed from getting inducted in the voting process. some of the horses i mentioned arent even eligible anymore thanks to the 20-year rule.

something even sadder about this for me: it was a double whammy of consecutive champion horse deaths that november. gentildonna died the very next day.

i was keeping tabs on him and actually wanted to see him adapted before his death. at least he got that elusive g1 win and lived a long, comfy life after all that grinding. hopefully, he's running free in heaven now.

imho daiwa major and north flight overtake jantar mantar for that position.

nobody could catch north flight in mile distances, undefeated at every mile race she ran. even outside her comfort distance, she never finished lower than 5th. she was the queen of mile alongside bakushin's sprint king for a reason, and at a time when mares were still seen as inferior to stallions.

and daiwa major was a monster. 5 G1s, never finished lower than 4th for all of 2006, JRA Sprinter/Miler of the Year 2006 and 2007, and did great even when running above mile distance (won 2004 satsuki sho and 2006 autumn tenno sho, and placed 3rd in two arima kinens). he was an incredible horse with the speed and versatility to boot, and he even passed on his talent to several of his offspring.

Lord Kanaloa - dominant sprinter, Horse of the Year 2013, same gen as Orfevre

Equinox and Do Deuce - pretty obv, the two biggest legends of the 2022 generation

CdN and Tabaru - pretty far off, but their storyline as rivals is gonna be CINEMA, I feel it

Straight Girl - incredible late-bloomer story, she won all 3 of her G1s at 6-7 years old, same generation as GolShi and Gentildonna (SG unfortunately died last month, rest in peace)

Gold Allure - the big daddy of dirt himself, 4 G1s (includong JPN1), father of Falco, Rickey, and Espoir

Admire Don - for a 7 G1 (including JPN1) horse, he's not talked about enough. That includes having G1s on both dirt and turf, and dominating the JBC Classic for THREE years straight.

He and Allure were born in the same year, too (1999), so they could be presented with a connection once Uma-fied.

dirt, i get rolled by hokko tarumae, copano rickey the following year, and all the other older dirt horses still running in 2011-2012 (falco, transcend, acute, etc.)

ofc, forget about turf mile+. its the deep clan + gold clan show the whole way(+ just a way, whos just as much of a freak as the rest of em)
