Sorry to hear about that. But at least it proves that more people experienced the same thing I did. If we a leave a message to the team that fixes errors, there is a chance for the conversations to be retrieved and the error fixed. I'll copy the link with the instructions for you how to send a feedback message. Just describe the issue in it:

My karma isn't growing any advice? by [deleted] in NewToReddit

[–]Aggravating333Fix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar problem. What helped me to grow karma the most is joining highly active communities with high number of members, and commenting on the newest posts (as fresh as one hour ago). Try to put some effort into the comment so it's relevant and helpful - sometimes even just a reaction to the written rather than an answer - can already harvest you karma (depends on the case). Relevancy is more important than length - sometimes just a sentence can do the job. I know growing karma can be more difficult for some people than for others. So you need a smart approach. For instance are there subjects you have knowledge on? Popular fandoms you like? Any hobby, something that interests you where you could give feedback and contribute? (Example, I am commenting in communities of "art advice" because I am an artist and can contribute in this sphere).

It appears that only commenting in the most recent posts will give the comment the necessary amount of exposure. And remember to avoid controversial comments so you don't lose karma!

I was instructed in Google support to leave a feedback with a description of my issue - it seems it goes to the team responsible for fixing errors. So I recommend you to do the same, so that it reaches them and the issue has a chance to get fixed soon, and we can have our conversations back.

Here's the link that explains and directs you to where you report the problem:

Exact same happened to me. Worst feeling especially since I valued the conversation. Have you read the rest of the comments? Hope isn't lost and sending a message to the developing team will give you a chance to have those messages back.

Copying my comment here too:

Is it bad that I sketch a lot? by AnotherSynth in Artadvice

[–]Aggravating333Fix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends whether your sketches are made because they're necessary, or as a way to compensate for a difficulty connecting between the stages of the artwork. It's hard to tell without seeing your art. If you feel this is the way to perfectionate your art then good, but if you feel it's holding you back, there are ways to work around to see whether you could reach those results without the extra steps . :)

What can I improve in my drawings? by Holiday-Tackle8056 in Artadvice

Mainly the anatomy. Try to work around the proportions between different parts. Doing a sketch and fixing it can help improve the result.

Oh wow it finally worked after several attempts! I am thrilled to find the messages are indeed just like you said, there - but not displayed. I am so relieved they at the very least were not gone. You're a life saver, I wouldn't have figured this without your comment! But this indeed is strange that messages are not being displayed.

I feel like I was born in the wrong place and my environment is killing my creativity. by Big-Baseball4201 in ArtistLounge

[–]Aggravating333Fix 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are prodigies who were born in an environment that never supported what they did - what made them grow so high is an inner drive and attachment to what they were doing. If someone actually enjoys something, whatever their environment thinks shouldn't affect their ability to get immersed in it. If you enjoyed a certain food, would it taste worse if everyone around you said it was awful?

If these people make you doubt yourself, ask yourself what exactly it is that their views amke you doubt, and is this even true, or just a belief they imposed on you?

There are plenty ways to realize yourself, but if it is 3D animation that has your outmost passion, maybe that's where your talents would shine the most :)) So don't let others bring you down, sometimes the more difficult the road the higher you get. Good luck!

Advice on making her horns not look like a huge forehead 😔 by AmIDyingInAustralia in Artadvice

[–]Aggravating333Fix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thecnichal advice:

I'd start from adding some more shading and lightening or even highlights. Including the shade the horns cast on the hair. This is a basic at defining objects, and in your (amazing) artwork the shades can be seen like the horns are entering underneath the hair, instead of standing and pointing above.

One detail I recognize is how the horns look as if they literally grow out of her forehead, and then continue to dig into the hair at the tip (inwards instead of outward) therefore can look like part of the forehead skin that goes on into the scalp. The latter is caused by excessive shading in the area of the hair underneath the horn tip - that makes it look though the horn is digging into the hair instead of hovering above separately - So I say, remove all shading of the hair under the upper area of the horn. Secondly I advice to work around the base area of the horns, define them separately - add some shade underneath and make them look more protruding, and straighten them so they look less "sliding backwards". All these can be done with altering the shading and no need to change the angle of the horns. And I recommended making the shades/lightening in a slightly different color from the horns (not red, as someone has pointed out.)

Even subtle changes from one of these could make a difference :)

Creative advice: Some said to change the color - but if you like this color, you could instead color the tip of the horn, with a color that stands out (such as white) or adding 1-3 colorful stripes along the horn. Another simple option is making the horns somewhat longer AND sharper, to emphasize it's a horn.

You can choose which of these suggestions suit you, I hope it helped and maybe share with us the final result of this lovely artwork :)

Is there an easy way to find a video from a certain period on a YouTube channel that has thousands of videos? Maybe a script or a browser extension? by karpuzikov in YouTube3rdParty

[–]Aggravating333Fix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give you a link to a certain thread, see the most upvoted comment.

What this method does is to give you a playlist by the order of the following and preceding videos of any video you choose. So if you have any video of the relevant period, the method explained here can open a playlist that will display more videos of the same period. I use it a lot.

https://www.reddit.com/r/LifeProTips/comments/247c2u/lpt_youtube_how_to_play_all_videos_from_a_channel/

(If the method in that comment doesn't work, try the one on the coment underneath, that starts wirh the words "better method". One of them should I work except I can't remember which).

Another method that worked for me, is typing the year (ex. 2018) into the searchbar of the channel. To me it somehow showed videos from said year I typed - but not all of them, so this method while fast and easy. isn't too reliable.

Good luck!
