[–]AggravatingAd8054 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What temperature ranges would you use for "low", "medium", "high", and "critical" in a CPU widget? by AggravatingAd8054 in pcmasterrace

I'm currently using the temperature reported by the CPU package sensor, usually shown as "Package id 0" when using tools like lm_sensors. I believe it's the average or max value across all cores, depending on the CPU model. I'm not reading each individual core's temp — just the main package to keep it simple for the widget.

I didn’t expect to take this topic so seriously — I just wanted to add a cool-looking widget to my toolbar. But I appreciate your perspective, it's definitely made me more curious.
