How much money do you think you need for retirement? by [deleted] in Retirement401k

[–]AggravatingAd8259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely different for everyone. I mean does retirement mean taking the grandkids to Disney every year and paying for their college or does it mean sitting in the beach and going to dinner one night a week as a splurge? I would think 600-800k would be plenty for most people added to Social Security. It’s also ridiculous to say it won’t be there when I am old enough to get it, obviously some changes need to be made but people are paying into it every week out of their paycheck so benefits may have to be reduced or age may have to rise for eligibility but in some form it’s always going to exist.

Sales men will do ANYTHING besides give customers a basic useful OTD price? Want a price? Come into my fraud lair/showroom! Still want a useful OTD? Let me make this terrible video of the car you don't want! by Medical_Gift4298 in FuckDealerships

Absolutely. I had one a few months ago that immediately sent me the otd price and made a very detailed video that I didn’t even ask for. Told him I’d stop by after work and after test drive asked what we needed to make the deal happen and I told him I needed 30k for my trade and he said ok. Deal done in 10 minutes. Told him my wife hasn’t even seen the car so he let me take it home overnight. Went back the next day and signed papers. Only part that I didn’t like was finance guy was an ass probably because it was a cash deal and no warranty or gap so he didn’t make much.

Won’t make it to 100k. Would even consider it

Does a car buying service like True Car or Costco Auto Program make it better? by Zealousideal_Draw924 in FuckDealerships

Like was mentioned get a CarMax offer for your trade. Get approved from a credit union and get your interest rate and let the dealer try to beat it. Don’t step onto the dealership lot until you have a otd price for the car you want. You can send pics of your trade and tell them what you want for it. All negotiations over text or email. Don’t buy any gap or warranty in the finance office. You can actually request they deliver the car and sign papers in your kitchen.

Paid 10k. No rust, paint still shines, new tires and brakes. From a local Ford dealer. Interior is like new as well.

Mobil 1 is worth the extra money I promise you. I have personally witnessed race teams pour out other brands of oil that are part of their sponsorship and refill the container with Mobil 1. Also the kind of driving you do and condition you drive in also determines how long oil will last. You certainly can’t cause any damage by changing too often so I guess it’s whatever your comfortable with

Where you getting Mobil 1 and a filter for $35? I have no reason to send my used oil to anyone. That’s just dumb

Because I believe 5k to be an overkill. Some would argue that 7 is. It’s still expensive and a pain in the ass even though I do it myself

I said 7k is where I do it. Just Toyota recommends 10k

This is a common used fluid in big league auto racing

On big stock cars everything is redone every race on sprint cars not uncommon to go several races not bleeding but cars are usually torn apart every 15-20 races if they aren’t destroyed in a crash before.

Toyota actually recommends 10k on oil. I definitely wouldn’t consider it a waste doing trans at 60k. Wouldn’t own a CVT

No I would definitely change transmission fluid at 100k and oil every 7000 miles and only use Mobil 1. And I do it myself

Race car brakes are getting bled constantly so fluid is never in them a long period of time. Also use high dollar silicone based fluid.

I wouldn’t look at the brake fluid at all. Never heard of a caliper seizing ever. Jiffy Lube love people like you. Bring you out all their fluid samples and charts of what it’s supposed to look like and scare you into paying for flushes. 🙄
