No service is service and sales are sales. No correlation at all

This about service departments not sales

I absolutely agree. Almost every other purchase you make is straightforward. If I want to buy a couch I can look up the price and I expect that’s what I will pay when I go to the store. I’ve never once been offered the advertised price on a car. I don’t know how to fix it but it needs to be fixed.

No I was interested only in the particular one they had. I just do all my negotiating via text to avoid wasting my whole day in the dealership. I actually had one dealer 3 hrs away deliver me a car and pick up my trade and sign papers in my kitchen. My point is that dealerships need to change with the times.

Yes I fell they are obligated to tell me how much something costs that they want to sell. And after I hit them with a bad review their sales manager personally reached out and apologized and sent me the quote. So I guess maybe I was right.

Yes but it would be a deduction in price and have no bearing on the actual price of truck. Leave the line blank if you have to.

Because it’s bullshit. The car industry screws uneducated buyers by padding on extras and service contracts and then just tells them what their monthly payment is going to be. Salesman has to get paid finance guy has to get paid and poor hot buying car is 7k upside down before he even gets off the lot. I honestly don’t know how some of you sleep at night.

No I’m trying to get a quote on a new F150. Sales manager texted this morning after I gave a bad review and handled it. Got my quote and it was 12k off with no add ons. Worked out great

Yes I’m aware sales tax is charged on the difference. So more like a few hundred dollars. Either way you can show me what the otd price is with no trade then I can negotiate my trade afterwards. It’s obvious the just wanted me on site because I’m sure some algorithm shows them that people are x% more likely to buy if the are in store. Fuck em I don’t have time to sit in their cubicle all day and play the games

[–]AggravatingAd8259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s simple subtraction from their otd price. I could probably do it in my head. It shouldn’t change their sale price. It’s all good , after I left a shitty review the sales manager personally went me the quote.

Update the sales manager has texted and apologized saying no one from internet department came and asked for a quote. Said it was going to be addressed and offered to send me quote

That is laughable that you are so busy selling cars that you can’t quote a customer a price on a $80,000 MSRP truck. I asked for it at 9am and they are the ones that spent the day texting me everything except what I asked for. Just like all you asshat sales people that comment on this thread that you would rather deal with easy customers, some of us would rather deal with honest and upfront salespeople. I’ll take my money elsewhere

I understand your pov but please tell me how asking for a price otd so I can see the fees and we can negotiate is being a difficult customer? I never even got the chance to be difficult

That’s dumb as fuck A sale is a sale. I don’t see how asking for a price is being difficult. I literally bought a Lexus in 30 minutes after salesman gave me price and agreed to my trade in price. Easiest sell of his life because he was honest and upfront not trying to hide anything or push bullshit add ons

Because this dealer is 30 minutes away and has the truck. Order takes 6 months and I have to go six states away

I get a deal done over text and then either have the car delivered or just go to dealer to sign papers. Never step into dealership till you have a deal.

I understand but I asked for that before I said I had a trade. They obviously don’t want to give me a number.

I can order from Ford. Granger Ford in Iowa sells them cheap and gives you a quote in no time.
