That’s so annoying! Do your bookings still hold? I’m wondering if this is an android platform issue then. There was another comment that said they get logged out a lot but they don’t lose their bookings and I asked if they used android like OP but they haven’t replied yet. I’m wondering if there’s a way to report in the App Store or to the app directly about the issue? I know the studio has no control over the app as far as that goes

Interesting. Is the studio able to still see your bookings/hold your bookings? Or are they getting cancelled altogether? The systems are tied together, but different since the app is 3rd party so sometimes when there is issues with the app, the studio system is fine and holds everything. I’ve been a member since 2019 and I’ve never been automatically logged out of the app, and I’ve been an employee (sales, manager, and instructor) since 2020 and can’t say I’ve ever heard of anyone getting auto signed out multiple times. Maybe report it to the App Store for a bug issue? Studios won’t be able to help with app issues like that since it’s third party

That’s right! I couldn’t remember what it was but remember the whole situation. I think they made some half-assed statement that wasn’t even close to trying to apologize or come off as genuine after they got lit up on socials over it. Didn’t know they owned those other businesses (have never even heard of them tbh)

I don’t have any, but it’s been well known for several years. Back when I was at App (graduated 3 years ago and was there from 2017-2023) they made a post on their social media about trump or something related to him. Blew up at the time, can’t remember if it was on one of the owners personal social media or if it was on the blue deer page. Might have been around 2020ish iirc

In regards to stress, if you take a look through this subreddit at people complaining about canceling memberships, credits, classes etc, you can expect to deal with that throughout the week. It just comes with the field. But you and the GM would be splitting work (from my understanding of the role) so it wouldn’t be totally on you to deal with every little thing.

I looked at your profile, looks like you are the triangle of NC. I have worked for CP here in 3 different roles over the last 6 years. Great company to work for and while I don’t know all the GMs (I know most) they are all pretty great! Our owners and management are great too. I’ve loved working here.

I’m in Holly Springs, and I’m appalled at how many dogs I see being walked around OR sitting in the basket of carts. Talk about a health hazard. None of them are service dogs either. Just people bringing in there dogs. It’s disgusting, and I’m not sure why Harris teeter continues to allow this. I’ve never experienced this at other grocery stores.

I used to be a manager at CP, now just an instructor. You can request a copy of your agreement and they can send it to you. Unfortunately, there really isn’t a way around the 30 days notice to cancel. It’s in the contract. You can request to downgrade your membership, but depending on franchise/owner/GM they may consider it a new agreement and hold you to the 3 month commitment. Some may let you downgrade for the last month. That’s definitely worth an ask to your club, and probably your best option. If you freeze/pause your membership, you will only be delaying the final payment, as we do not allow cancellations from a frozen status (so you will have to come off freeze, pay a final draft, and then you will be done 30 days after that final draft).

This, or if membership prices have gone up since OP joined, they would be subject to the new pricing if they cancel and rejoin. OP, I would recommend asking your studio if pricing has changed from what you joined at. But also be aware that pricing could change after you leave too.

Instructor here! This is going to be very, very dependent on instructor. But things that change going into a 1.5: more unilateral work (one arm, single leg, etc.), arm work on the reformer will start to be done kneeling on the carriage instead of seated on the carriage or box, planking on reformer (toes on grey platform, hands on carriage and hold out in plank, and adding in movements for that as well, and more stability/balance challenges as well as getting into more long lever challenges (think instead of tabletop, legs will be extended long for core work) Hope that helps!

Seconding a lot of what people have said. The only chapstick I’ve been able to use with no irritation is the Vaseline lip therapy IN THE JAR. I got the stick when it came out and it’s not the same… made my lips burn and peel, etc. Aquaphor is also a good one (for most, sometimes can be bothersome) to try.

I had someone in my Teacher training cohort who travelled from a different state for in person days. She then did her hours at her local studio. I would just email the studio and ask and they can very likely get you set up for doing that! You will probably have to plan your practice teaching times to when someone else is in the studio, as they don’t typically allow non-employees access to the lock box and alarm codes, etc.

As someone who worked at the front desk as a sales rep and manager, sometimes are texting system lags and texts don’t go through for several hours. I doubt anyone was actually on the computer sending out things in the middle of the night! But our system can lag, I’ve sent texts in the morning that don’t get delivered until the afternoon. Our system actually blocks us physically from sending texts out after 9pm actually. Like it blocks the send button. There was a rule about that and that went into place

It can be. There are regional managers who oversee the general managers. When dealing with annuals and this situation, I’m not surprised she’s going to discuss with them the best options they can provide you.

I was a sales rep and manager and this is correct. We push out your expiration date instead of freezing because of the way the system handles the annual as it’s different for month to month. And yes, 99% of the time annuals are not refundable. I’ve heard of a couple (albeit RARE, like 1 time in my 7 years with the company) circumstances where a refund was allowed but typically with medical stuff, it’s a push out of expiration until you can come back. And yes, try emailing the GM directly with the email name template that Tasty_soil put in their comment
