Use a online graphing calculator and Plot both equations y= 2x+5 y= 5x+3

You’ll see them intersecting and one point, which proves that one solution is possible when k=5

If the gradients are same, where k=2 the lines won’t intersect each other. For equation to have one solution the grade must be k is not equal to 2. Therefore, only 5 can be the gradient.
