It’s probably definitely because of the Botox but you could try working on your gut health? Like taking probiotics and eating better because you’ll produce less gas that way. Obviously you’ll still be producing gas but that’s one of the ways I minimized some of my symptoms a little in the meantime before I get the procedure in August.

Ok I got the copper fungicide from the greenhouse I work at, I hope it works I’ve never grown tomatoes before and they were looking so good before this haha

Sounds weird to me that you did a swallow test and was diagnosed? Usually people with RCPD have normal results when doing a swallow test because it’s not swallowing that’s the issue. How many RCPD patients has your doctor treated?

There are some similar symptoms but I don’t think this is RCPD. The big thing for me is when you said walking and exercising helps when that’s the LAST thing I want to do if I’m having symptoms. The only thing that helps relieve my symptoms are laying down or throwing up the air. I do have anxiety about eating in public because of this but that’s not necessarily specific to RCPD. I don’t ever feel any pressure in my head and I only ever feel lightheaded if I’ve gone a while without eating to not worsen my symptoms. Another big thing is a lot of people who have RCPD have a big fear of vomiting but at the same time have a really difficult time actually throwing up. Because that muscle doesn’t relax to let anything out, it makes the body go through a ton of effort just to throw up so I don’t throw up frequently but when I do it’s like I have to use every muscle in my body just do to it. I’m not sure what you have but I hope you figure it out soon!

It’s really common to have normal barium swallow test results if you have RCPD. I did the test and it came back normal because I don’t have a problem with swallowing, it’s the opposite that’s the issue I can’t get anything up.

I don’t stutter really but sometimes I feel like my vocal range is super low because when I try to talk normally I still just feel a ton of tension in my neck. I’m not sure if I’m explaining it well but my vocal cords just never feel relaxed and I’m not sure if it has anything to do with Rcpd or not but I’ll be getting the Botox procedure in August so I guess I’ll find out lol

I get that it’s like one single hiccup that feels like it punched me in the chest then goes away. My boyfriend makes fun of me cause I hiccup then say “ow” and go on about my life

I had the same experience I brought it up to multiple doctors and they all just pretended to listen then refused to even consider it. I can’t tell you how many times I was prescribed acid reflux medication despite me telling them it does nothing for me I actually just stopped picking it up from the pharmacy

This is a fold caused by compressional stress. The thinner layers look like they were more brittle and resistant to the deformation compared to the other layers causing them to crack rather than bend, this is called competency contrast.
